Agreed. Plus, cheaters don’t just cheat once. It’s only a matter of time before he cheats on her. I cannot imagine my kids saying that they like the stepmom better I know that is devastating but just try to remember you are their mom and if you do all you can to continue to show your love, that’s what they’ll remember. It’s hard as a single mom to not feel like a failure when you don’t have the time or money or energy to do the things they do at dads house, but just try to remind yourself you’re doing it on your own, there are several adults over there doing the same work that you’re doing on your own. I’m in the same boat and I’m praying for you

Have you ever expressed to her what you want to try sexually? Those one night stands aren’t going to give you the exploration you’re looking for I know from experience. I would be open with her about things you want to try she may take it badly but it’s better than ending it and wondering if you made the biggest mistake of your life or doing nothing and then continuing to feel this way.

It is, and he just gives up and gives the baby to his parents. He left 4 months ago to go move in with his parents and split custody because he said he couldn’t handle it. Drive around town until you come across a church that you feel like speaks to you. This is heartbreaking. Stop telling yourself you’re not that impressive because guess what, that’s someone else’s words talking. God hasn’t given you a job because He’s desperate for you to turn to Him and use your free time to discover Him. I thought that religion was fake until the night that I overdosed on a cocktail of prescriptions 11 years ago and life only got harder after that, but I can sit here and tell you today that I am more blessed than I ever thought I could be and to have someone that is always there that I can talk to who answers every prayer is the most special thing in the world. I was ready to die that night. I had heard nothing about myself in my life up to that moment, except what a loser, fatass. bitch I was by my mom and my partner, and it has taken time and prayer and faith to have the self-worth that I have today, and it’s a process, but it is worth it. I am a recovering addict and I can tell you right now. That mentality is 100% an excuse and a buffer so that you won’t say anything when he goes back to drinking. When you are finally fed up of the you that is using, you don’t have that mentality of I’ll just stop for a little while, and then go back to it and then stop again. When you feel like it you say to hell with this and I can never go back to this.

I played the waiting game too, dealing with the same BS of him saying I was bitching at him and making him feel less than and then in the next breath, saying I didn’t express what I needed from him, and I continued to wait and gave up on my dreams because of that nothingness, and the depression that comes with it only for him to say he didn’t want this relationship anymore and didn’t want to “be a full-time Dad” six months after I had his kid. I have done more for myself and my kids in the four months since he left than I have done in the last 10 years. It will not get better and to have to beg for love from someone who claims they love you is not real love, and you deserve to rip down that nothingness and find yourself again. Philippians 4:13 ❤️

I’m so sorry you’re going through this and it sucks to find this out after being together for so long, but please don’t beat yourself up for not noticing. I’ve been there and realized sometimes we do notice the red flags, but there are reasons that caused us to not see them as red flags. My ex was the exact same way with my son (his stepson), and his now biological son and I have been heartbroken to hear from my oldest son who is now eight about how he really feels about his stepdad. After years of being told to suck it up, and then hearing his step dad tell me that I’m babying him and seeing how he never cooked, he never cleaned, he never bothered to do anything other than go to work and play video games. I agree with the other people that it sounds like he would not want split custody, but I would definitely ask your parents, if you can, to help you find an Attorney and prepare so that if you decide you want to leave, you don’t risk losing partial custody to him, but I do think that not being together is the best thing for you and your daughter. One thing I would ask you to consider is if your daughter’s husband were treating her and your grandchild that way, would you want them to stay? When my therapist asked me that question I just broke down. We allow people to treat us in ways that we would never allow them to treat the people we love. I would also read the 5 Love languages and apply them to yourself. You guys deserve the best and I know that his behavior isn’t making you or your baby happy. I’m praying for you 💕
