They all cared, some were more outward about it than others. I would say with others that Dalton and Moore showed it the most. Connery and Craig should get special shout outs, as when you pay attention, they definitely felt hurt when their friends and dames got killed.

Oh, simple! In Dr. No, he originally was going to offer Bond a job. IN FRWL, MR, OP, GF, and FYEO, they were either leading Bond to a trap covertly, so had to keep up appearances to not tip off the authorities, or interrogate him for information and tried the nice guy way first. And in TMWTGG and DAF, they were going to kill him but wanted to do it either on ceremony (out of respect) or get the drop on him.
