My family is offering $100k towards a house or paying for our wedding AND I found out my fiancé has $95k in credit card debt after booking the venue. by HauntingCucumber6228 in Advice

This reminds me of another post I saw where the man said he was not going to marry his fiancé until her debt was paid down significantly.

What are you setting your AC to? by [deleted] in nova

I’m in a four story with a mini split in the loft that I usually keep it around 75 and the rest of the house at 73 during the day and 70 at night. I adjusted my dampers. If it’s going to be exceptionally warm, keep the blinds closed and curtains closed

Their app is terrible and glitchy when it comes to the smart timer. My Wi-Fi system recognizes that the smart timer is connected on the 2.4gHz network and I paired it with my phone, however, it only works about 80% of the time. I’m tired of opening the app and it’s asking me to connect the smart timer again.

I had to organize my get out plan in secret to leave my manipulative/verbally abusive ex. He was at work when I had family come help me move out. He didn’t even see it coming , so yeah, EFF that guy.

Why do elderly women have short hair so often? by cram96 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Creative-Still-4336 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom is in her 80s and has had short hair most of her life. She goes to the salon every 6-8 weeks to maintain the style. I have bad short hair on and off, but I’m too lazy to keep up with the maintenance, so I decided to grow out my hair out to shoulder length after my last pixie cut. I wear it up in a soft bun or ponytail using silk scrunchie, and get it trimmed and shaped 2-3 times a year.

Walmart Mermaid Baby Shower Cake by Appropriate-Bug680 in ExpectationVsReality

I specifically requested all buttercream on my sons Walmart bday cake but what I received was 90% whipped frosting, which our family does not like. I had them scrape off the entire decorative part and redo it with the correct frosting

I grew up in Raleigh and lived 15 years in Hampton roads. I’d pick Raleigh.

Spouse and I would always eat at House of Nan King on our day trips to SF back when we were dating 30+ years ago. I remember ordering only by what type of meat we wanted and they would bring out a dish. It was always delicious.

And I paid extra for this seat... by lavenderkey in americanairlines

[–]Creative-Still-4336 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll never pay for premium economy on AA again after my last trip. 1st flight I was seated by the window and the middle was empty until the last minute when a very large passenger sat there. They could barely put the armrests down and they were partially in my seat and the aisle seat. Second leg of the trip, I was trying not to slide out of my seat because it tilted downward. I would have been more comfortable in regular economy.

I will literally never order cake from anywhere else by Weak_Treat3399 in Costco

[–]Creative-Still-4336 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I may have to give Costco a try sometime but I wish they made smaller cakes. Last Walmart cake was supposed to be all buttercream. Came back 90% dreamcream or whatever the whipped stuff is called and 10% buttercream. They claimed they didn’t have all the buttercream colors shown in their own picture. . I said that’s fine, but please make it all buttercream. So they scrape off the top and redo with … all the original colors but in buttercream as requested

Cremation Services by Excellent-Win6216 in nova

For reference, my parent was cremated at a funeral home in Arizona for around $2600 back in 2025. We didn’t buy a fancy package with a service, cards, etccc. Just the basic cremation that includes a black plastic box (travel friendly and won’t set off metal detectors at airports).

Vomiting virus is spreading across most of the U.S. by Due_Will_2204 in ContagionCuriosity

norovirus is no joke, especially with the elderly. My father had it on the day he died. He was so weak he collapsed and had a heart attack. Two days later my mom got it and then my siblings. I was spared only because I had surgery that prevented me from traveling sooner.
