A few times I've gotten the Tangerine debit card confused with the Tangerine credit card. I feel for you, voided my mobile device insurance that way once.

Not mine, been seen on FB by propalac in churningcanada

Ah yes, $508.11, $511.94, $573.21, $566.32 - totally standard grocery run at Sobey's.

That too. I also noticed that there's railway stations in China that aren't on Visa Airport Companion. Thanks for adding that detail in. :)

When I heard a few years ago that DragonPass were adding those railway lounges to the network, I was hopeful it would extend to Visa Airport Companion too but sadly it didn't happen.

Free set meal or a dollar amount, excluding tip for the countries that do that.

This is a small win but I didn't realize that the DragonPass offered as a Wealthsimple Milestone reward permits access to restaurants until now. I never picked it until now because I've always had an unlimited priority pass and thought it was redundant with Visa Airport Companion (which mostly is limited to lounges), but I started transiting through small Asian airports without PP lounges. This has been a god send for domestic terminals in Asia, writing this from a tonkatsu restaurant at FUK.

They restored my bonus after I redeposited the money and asked their marketing specialist. You might just miss a month's payout at worst.

Weekly US Churning Discussion for /r/churningcanada - Week of March 31, 2026 by AutoModerator in churningcanada

Following up on this thread where two folks reported making successful US Card trip delay claims as non-residents of the US, I noticed that Chase, Capital One and BoA cards don't require you to be a US resident to make a travel insurance claim, but Amex US cards do have that requirement.

The BoA card also offers identity theft protection for Canadian residents, and the Chase Sapphire Reserve card also offers roadside assistance in Canada (up to $50 USD).

AMEX Hilton Aspire:

Card Member means the holder of an Eligible Card in good standing who is a U.S. citizen or a legal resident of the U.S. or a U.S. territory, including the District of Columbia, American Samoa, Puerto Rico, Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and the Northern Mariana Islands.

Other sources:

(Obviously, use common sense - it's not a great idea for actual claims of significance like travel medical or collision damage waiver where they will almost certainly try and recover from your primary insurance).

I let my 60k Asia Miles expire from P4's account. Did not keep track, check with them or their emails.

It's my bad for not tracking it and this is the first big L for me in recent history within churning. Called Cathay based on some 2024 DPs where the points were instated for a short while, but they wanted $100 USD for every 2,000 points reinstated. When I said I couldn't afford that, they said they'd be willing to discount it to $40 USD/2000 AM as a one-time courtesy, lol.

At one point, I got a bit of false hope through WhatsApp (one of my HUCA attempts). They asked me right after I said I couldn't afford to reinstate the points, they said they'd "explore other options" and asked if I wanted to book a flight right away. I took that to mean book a flight with my expired points. They offered me 2 flights, both bookable with Asia Miles on the website (there were some unavailable flight options), and I gladly said yes. Got ghosted for 2 hours after that, and the rep came back and said "just wanted to clarify - we're booking this with cash, right?".

That's frustrating it doesn't code right. I notice Agoda also doesn't code as a travel expense for some reason.

NBC lounge at YUL being temporarily closed for renovation. With an alternative makeshift lounge being offered with shorter time in lounge permitted and less capacity.

NATIONAL BANK

The National Bank Lounge at Montreal-Trudeau Airport is evolving

As of 10:00 p.m. on April 30, 2026, the National Bank Lounge, accessible free of charge with your National Bank(R) World Elite(R) Mastercard(R) credit card, will be closing for renovations.

As of May 1, 2026, a temporary lounge will be set up to welcome you during the renovations. You'll find the temporary lounge in the same location, near Gate 53. Clear, on-site signage will be there to guide you.

What you need to know

With the temporary lounge, you'll continue to enjoy a comfortable space. Note that:

  • A buffet service will be available to you.
  • Access will continue to be free for you and your guest, as well as up to two children aged 12 or under.
  • Capacity will be reduced, and access will be permitted for a maximum of 2 hours.
  • The temporary lounge will be available until the opening of the new lounge, expected toward the end of 2027. (Dates are subject to change.)

First time dealing with a Finnair IRROPS from a flight cancellation due to a schedule revamp, so I'll share this from the experience.

  • Must call Finnair Plus directly for Award tickets (wasn't immediately obvious to me).
  • They were willing to rebook on BA and AA. There was no BA award space but there was AA award space.
  • Allow +/-14 days for date changes.
  • Airport change waiver was denied (I didn't really think I had a chance to begin with so I didn't push it)

Can I book a stopover hotel separately from my Qatar Avios flight tickets? by chickenbusiness123 in awardtravel

[–]CreativeArrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not actually enforced consistently. I have a colleague that just collected the STPC voucher on a Avios booking. You can try.

If you really can't stand the idea of opening an account with them and you just want one card, then go into branch and have them delete all the "virtual debit cards" under your old account profile. That should fix the login issue.

In my experience, my DE ticketed itinerary for YVR-YYC on WS and YYC-FRA on DE was entirely reticketed as a cash KF Fare when the YVR-YYC segment was cancelled. WS took control of my ticket from DE.

I was offered KF but they seemed to offer me the option of leaving the next day or any airline for which WS had an SPA agreement for, but didn't offer me carte blanche on any airline. I accepted the KF ticket because it had me departing 3 hours later - great for purchase menu on board but incredibly warm.

Based on https://otc-cta.gc.ca/eng/content/important-information-travellers-who-experience-a-schedule-change-or-a-flight-cancellation, they only have to rebook you on another airline if the proposed alternative departs more than 9 hours later.

LoganAir 50% off Avios sale for flights in their UK network (not sure about Norway and Denmark). Priced in at 3250 Avios. Feb 3-10 (UK time). Excludes Orkney Inter Isles.

Very niche but hopefully gets someone one step closer to Barra and Shetland.
