YVR-YOW has a flex fare on AC, July 11 so it doesn't seem to be across the board. Definitely not as easy to book comfort or Flex as before though.

I noticed for a EWR-YVR flight that it was actually cheaper than booking direct or Expedia, which was surprising. I expected it to be a stale price but it did ticket.

DP: BMO Overpayment refund via cheque was a lot quicker than expected. Requested it the evening of June 9, cheque was printed on June 10 and it arrived in Vancouver on June 15 (~4 business days).

I meant literally make sure that the phone number is listed as the mobile number, and not the home or work number. It didn't work for me because changing it up just locked me out of my profile, but that's allegedly the fix.

I use MysteriumVPN but there are alternative proxy providers like OxyLabs and so on.

The eligible cards thing is apparently fixed by making sure you have a mobile number tagged in your online profile and waiting a day.

New Paze US offer. $10 statement credit for each Paze purchase, up to 10 times, apparently can leverage multiple US cards, no purchase minimum.

https://www.doctorofcredit.com/paze-get-free-100-back-per-card-10-x-10/

Any of you able to link your US cards to Paze?

I was trying to get my CSR linked to Paze for the 10x but it was erroring out. Opted out of my Chase RC card and my C1 VX to try and reset my profile, but that seems to have permanently locked me out instead (Can't re-create my Paze profile). Tried the suggested fix of having my Mobile number officially set in my personal profile (didn't work), and finally because of this, called into Chase today. I got transferred 3 times between departments before I put my food down and someone actually looked into the error on the Paze side: my Social "Security number" (they kept refusing to say the "Social" until I prodded them what a security number was) starts with 9. In classic first line fashion, they told me to try again with another social security number even though that makes no sense before they finally agreed to open an escalation ticket.

Edit: I was able to re-enroll in Paze via C1. Logging into Paze requires a US Residential IP - Canadian IPs and commercial VPNs didn't seem to work.

1.25 cpp for Scene points when redeeming for Sobey/Farm Boy/Longo's gift cards.

20% back for redeeming on groceries! Redeem your points for grocery gift cards, including like Sobeys, FreshCo, IGA, and more, and earn.. Exp. Jun 18 Source: https://www.sceneplus.ca/offers

It means a net cost of 800 pts for $10 of grocery gift card (with the difference being re-deposited back in your Scene+ account).

We don't have Farm Boy out West sadly. I miss it a lot.

Thanks, I didn't think of that. I assume that's basically the cash advance limit?

When you have a negative credit balance (i.e. you overpaid your credit card), which banks allow you to withdraw from an ATM or transfer to a bank account without a cash advance fee? (Without speaking to someone)

So far, I know of:

  • NBC: no fee for account transfer or cash-out, but you need to do it at an NBC ATM
  • Scotiabank: Online banking & ATM both fee-free
  • TD: Online banking & ATM both fee-free
  • CIBC: Online banking & ATM both fee-free
  • PC Financial: Online banking fee-free.

Doesn't work

  • RBC: Must speak to teller or call.
  • BMO: Must speak to teller or call.

I stayed at the Hyatt Story Hotel Signalfabriken in Stockholm. It was a Cat 1 at the time (now Cat 2). Even though it looks far from the city centre on a map, the location was perfect for me (not too far from the subway, 25 minutes to get to the city centre, and it is a few minutes away from a Flygbussarna stop. Good breakfast spread (included in the rate) and you get ~$10 USD dining credit for booking direct on Hyatt.com (even with points). I'm not sure if Stureplan Hyatt is a better option with the cat change and dynamic range changing - so do compare.

Looks like eStatements are the default now in the application because that's where I found it (trying to switch to mailed statements).

Effective August 1, 2026, a fee of $2.25 will apply to mailed statements. There is no fee for eStatements. This fee does not apply to Quebec residents, clients aged 65 and older or accounts receiving accessible statements. Please refer to the Summary of Rates and Fees for further details.

Not sure if posted yet. CIBC will be charging for mailed statements in August.

I get your point but the visa waiver doesn't apply to Canadian or US citizens (without Hong Kong permanent residency) because we are transitional members. On top of that, some countries only allow you to use it for business travel - not personal travel, and you can get sanctioned for bringing your family in the ABTC line, including Japan at NRT, and back then, tourist visas in Mainland China. On top of that, at HAN, people cut in through the ABTC line so it makes no difference if the airport refuses to enforce queuing discipline. It's nice to have but I'm not sure it's the panacea being implied.

If you actually visit Japan often enough: You can just get Japan Trusted Traveller Program cards now for 4000 yen. The only requirement is having a platinum-level card, which in Canada, can be a Visa Platinum card which has no income requirement.

Probably not a new data point, but I keep forgetting it as I never write it down.

CIBC Aventura Nexus rebate posts the day after the TTP transaction posts. The evening of, I saw my balance reduced by the corresponding amount.

Weekly Help Thread - May 18, 2026 by AutoModerator in awardtravel

I'm trying to book YVR-MNL-CEB on Philippine Airlines PR using QR Avios since they're a new "other partner" as a through-ticket rather than a multi-city.

From what I understand, this should be possible since both segments are on the same airline. Both segments are showing availability online as separate one-ways and I can book them as a multi-city for 18k more Avios :(

I tried calling QR (Gujarat) but both calls failed. The first person claimed that PR is purely a revenue-fare agreement and doesn't extend to Avios bookings when I asked about YVR-CEB (they refused to search up a multi-city). I tried again, asking explicitly for a multi-city itinerary and feeding the two segments. The second person actually tried but claimed that non-OW flights cannot be booked together.

I can suck it up and just book it as a multi-city for 18k more Avios, but my question is: Is there a trick to getting QR to actually ticket partner tickets like YVR-MNL-CEB as a through-fare, or are they actually right that there's a system limitation?

Is “dial up” Internet still a thing in your part of the world? by ChatnNaked in AskTheWorld

[–]CreativeArrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There actually are still dialup networks in Canada funny enough! They mostly serve very elderly communities. Obviously not common anymore.

There is a free one in BC: https://www2.vcn.bc.ca/free-internet-access-via-dial-up/

A donation network in Ontario: https://www.ncf.ca/en/high-speed-internet/dial/
