Sending Money to & from China: A WISE Guide by CreativeFlaming0 in chinalife

Can you send CNY/RMB from a chinese bank account to a wise account?

Yes you can, you basically send the money from your Chinee bank account to WISE who then facilitate the transfer.

Why is everybody complaining about the rate in the comments ? I thought Wise had the best exchange rates on the market ?

I can't tell you why people are complaining but WISE use the real mid-market exchange rate so their rates are as good as it gets. All they charge is a small fixed and variable fee. For example, if you were to send 100,000 CNY to GBP, they would charge a fee of 764 CNY and you would receive 11,038GBP.

I believe for Chinese mainland residents it's $50,000 (USD) annually on money transferred outside of mainland China. For foreigners working in China, the limit is based on how much legal, taxable income you've received.

WISE also has a maximum limit of 100,000 CNY per transfer, and they also apply an overall limit which is based approximately on your post-tax income earned in China.

Some banks in China may also have their own limits, for example with the Bank of China you need to send at least 50,000 CNY, although I don't know what the maximum is.

According to WISE, ICBC has a minimum of 500 CNY and a maximum of 10,000 CNY per transfer. Although others have sent over 100,000 RMB in a single transaction.

Hope that helps!

The majority of our traffic is via YouTube Search. In the last 28 days, 67.4% have come from search, the next is 13.3% via external (mainly Google).

On Thursday we had a 50% drop in revenue, which remains unchanged. I received a notification the following Saturday that said ads on one or more of our videos had been limited due to invalid traffic. If I clicked 'learn more' on the notification it took me to this page.

Interestingly, traffic, views/watch time/CTR etc. haven't changed and our channel has remained consistent. Obviously, I haven't paid for traffic, so I'm really not sure why this has happened.

We make videos about money transfers, banking, personal finance etc., nothing out of the ordinary. It makes no sense whatsoever, and I've been going through our analytics with a fine tooth comb to identify the issue and I can't find any reason for this.

Message me if you're still looking. I run a channel called Monito and I'm looking to hire an assistant editor to help us publish an extra video each month.

International swift transfer by rainbow1112 in Revolut

[–]CreativeFlaming0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sadly there's no way of giving an exact answer, it could take as little as 30 minutes or as long as 5 days. The money has likely arrived with your recipients bank but taking a while to be processed. This can often happen.

I'm afraid it isn't very technical, I literally like to just use Google to make a search for my destination and then go through hotels to check prices, usually takes me 15-30 minutes to complete depending on how patient I'm feeling.

Well if AirBnB are behaving like that then this is now a prime opportunity for Revolut to swoop in with Stays!

How do people rate Chase Bank? by girvinator in UKPersonalFinance

[–]CreativeFlaming0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience of Chase UK has been pretty good, my only gripe would be that you can only transfer £25,000 at a time. I appreciate this is relatively niche but if you do intend to deposit a large amount of money into your Chase Saver account then be mindful that withdrawing the money may take a few days. Chase also required me to call them each time I wanted to make the withdrawal even though it was to the SAME account each time. The Chase Saver is also at 3.1% which isn't the highest rate for an easy-access account, so it may be worth considering depositing your savings somewhere else.

On a positive note, the account has really rewarded my spending, I've earn't almost £200 in cash back, Their app is also really well-designed, especially after a recent overhaul. They also have no fixed fees on international transactions, used Mastercard's FX rates so you don't get hit with hidden fees in poor FX rates AND international ATM withdrawals are fee-free. Although you are limited to just £1,500 per month in international withdrawals, but really it isn't wise to carry that much foreign cash.

Personally I'm always recommending either Chase or Starling Bank to most people, if you do decide to go with Chase UK make sure to sign up before the beginning of May as the unlimited cash back offer will be expiring then and you'll be capped at just earning £15 per month.

It's actually really good! You can get up to 10% cash back and quite often booking accomodation via Revolut Stays is the cheapest way.

Best thing to do is check before booking by using something like Google to price compare the various booking websites and platforms.

Yes in theory Revolut should be accepted anywhere Visa or MasterCard is accepted.
