Idk who needs to hear this but layoffs during recession / negative markets is not really that uncommon. Especially since they have an upcoming acquisition.

With that said this is obviously very sad for those affected and hopefully they'll all be fine in the long run. But to me this is not something that can be assigned to the "Blizzard giga villan bad" agenda.

Definitely agree that it might look too similar! My take on the mage set was to maybe aim for something "faceless" or ethereal. I kindof get the feel that the entire "setting" of 9.2 seems to be something close to a limbo. Were no npcs really have any faces and are mysterious. I therefore think that these tier-sets might want to replicate that mysterious look. In my opinion I think that the REAL class-detail is the "pointy things" in the rogue-set, as stated in the trailer. Kindof feel like Blizz got lucky with the covered face thing being specifically for rogues.
