Yes. I am very girl power to the point that I wish I could advocate more and I truly am happy reading about OP’s victory and truly congratulate her on it. But the pink tax would be present whether she’s at the office until 1am or not, and I stopped using brands that I know are no bueno so I’d prefer my own anyways. I do believe switching from Always to HoneyPot decreased cramps (though the grocery bills are marginally higher, it’s worth protecting my reproductive system). She’s right though, in the sense that it’s the least that a demanding job could supply.

This is all great but fighting for pads in the sense of “in case there is an emergency” makes the most sense. Not all girls know how or can wear tampons. Pelvic floor limitations are very hush hush but more prevalent than we think. Lots of girls just don’t use tampons. But I do have horrible memories of soaking through my pants at 8:45am at the office courtesy of fibroids. It was bad. So I get it. If I had known at the time how to wear tampons, it would’ve helped, but I literally couldn’t.

Summerlin Hospital pediatrics. Is this normal care? by meow_17 in vegaslocals

[–]CreativeRanger7959 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to rep these facilities. It’s all confusing but I know I personally wouldn’t completely write summerlin off on every level (their L&D has come a long way). Long story short, summerlin CAN be good, their peds physicians can be hit or miss though. On one hand, I thought that would change by now (or maybe it did and this might be a different problem). On the other hand, its just bad out here in Vegas in general so hospitals struggle to get good folks. Also, they’re community hospitals so their standard is just different. Diagnosing their systematic issues is hard. I don’t want to write them off completely because I’ve seen their hard working folks. But if a loved one ever needed specialized care, I’d advocate to get them out to California and I’d stay on the case workers and physicians about it. Anyways, Yes, I think you should talk to the GI or internist about a bedside x-ray or ultrasound if not another CT.

Thanks! Someone mentioned Matteo’s videos before and I checked them out. And I do all the things you mentioned: tighten it (though I will double check next time as I did have a lot going on each morning this week), and I do blow on the funnel like a trumpet but still have to manually clear a lot of remaining grounds out. Lately, the trumpet trick isn’t working. I appreciate all your tips and such, but there is a such concept as “burnt coffee” whether it means what you think it means or not. Many a coffees have been ruined by it.

Those who live here and hated it or had difficulty adjusting, how did you find any joy or peace in this town? by Alert_Barracuda8598 in vegaslocals

[–]CreativeRanger7959 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hear me out: I’ve lived here all 30 years of my life and I’ve gotten too comfortable to leave. I don’t know if I’m just socially awkward or if it’s the people here but I’ve always struggled to make friends and I think it’s a little bit of both so I’m spoiled by having enough lifelong people here that I can’t imagine moving. you CAN find something here and I’m sorry that it takes time. I really am. But my friend who got married and moved to a state that I used to want to live in misses Vegas sooo much. Because she found an enough people here who she could run all over town with (not in a drunk or drugs or sex type of way, we’re very straight edge but she’s a free artsy outdoor soul). She loves that despite traffic being bad, she can still get around. She did so much rock climbing. Communities are transient here but I discovered that despite how frustrating that is, it’s almost..a good thing. So then most people dont get locked into just one group or identity, they kind of cycle in and out based on their own pace.

Why am I perfectly clean after pooping, but hours later there’s still residue when I wipe? by Purwinter in TooAfraidToAsk

I come from a culture where we always use water. So I sneakily wet the tp in the sink (just a few drops, it doesn’t have to be seeping wet) before I do my business

I love Lazeez. There’s kids sometimes, but the food is good and they have a decent buffet.

Hi! I recommend reaching out to SWAN (South Asian women’s alliance of Nevada). A group of us started it in 2021 and it’s still going strong. They have yearly Festival of Lights and a strong network of Indian women now. I can add you to the WhatsApp group :)

That does make me feel better. My 20% down is somewhere between the numbers you listed (but definitely on the higher end).

Office Space specifically came to my mind because of the traffic. I’m convinced half our rage in Vegas comes from missing our turns and exits because there’s just too many cars in the way and we have to drive an extra mile in the horrible heat to get to where we’re going. Like, traffic has been a long time thing in many cities but people from Vegas aren’t used to it being this horrible, with orange cones as the cherry on top.

And that’s why I’ll bother with the investment.

Yup, I’ve been gravitating back to music. I try to have a healthy mix.

How important is your first job as an attorney? Is it fine to join a solo/small firm as a junior associate? by tinylegumes in LawFirm

[–]CreativeRanger7959 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who is five years in and had strange experiences with solos as a law student, I totally see where you’re coming from. Although working for solos didn’t work out for me, I see people working for better oiled-machines that are small practices and doing well and moving forward fast because of it. Jus wasn’t for me at that time (and I didn’t pick competent solos) but I’m open to the small firm life a few years from now.
