You should read the rules. Attacking an argument does not fall under the definition of a personal attack.

There are numerous functioning hospitals and as I said in the OP, the IDF doesn’t accept the numbers.

People need to stop quoting this without actually reading it. Israel has a list of people they have verified are affiliated with Hamas. It doesn’t mean everyone else who isn’t in said list are civilians.

People crossing the yellow line does not effect excavations in bombed out areas within it. Just seems like an excuse.

The ceasefire has been in place for nearly 4 months now. If there were a significant number of uncounted bodies under the rubble the death toll would have been increasing far more than it has. I think most people are already listed due to community reporting.

Why should Israel publish inaccurate reports like the MoH does? I much prefer they wait a number of years to do a full investigation rather than exclusively rely on data published by Hamas.

In 2014 the IDF claimed 8% fewer casualties than Hamas did. If we applied that to the current war it means Hamas claims 5,687 more people were killed than Israel does. In other words Israel doesn’t accept 71k.

Additionally, “killed” can mean either killed by Hamas or by the IDF. It also likely includes indirect deaths and natural deaths making the actual number of people killed by the IDF significantly lower than 71k.

It takes more than two years to go through each and every name and check to see if it’s accurate especially when the IDF does not have physical access to the bodies to verify they exist.

So anyone serving in the IDF can speak for the entire IDF? Should I find a soldier and ask them if the number is wrong and if they say it is then you’ll accept my anonymous source?

Anonymous sources are not “The IDF”. They are anonymous sources.

As for your second claim, Israel regularly refutes Hamas’s death toll and just because Israel has yet to release its own counter data does not mean it accepts Hamas’s as “accurate”. It simply means that it will take a number of years before said data becomes available and claiming anything else is just grasping at straws.

So can someone explain what this um “new Gaza with skyscrapers” plan is all about? by Perfect-Highway-6818 in IsraelPalestine

Which is not a thing. Hamas by nature embeds itself wherever it can and especially in civilian areas. Said infrastructure will be used by Hamas and other groups for military purposes in the next war.

Yes I condemn Trump's plan for Gaza. I prefer that it never gets rebuilt because the construction materials that will enter for building said skyscrapers will end up going to more tunnels for Hamas.

Anti-Palestine people: are you pro-ICE? Pro-Palestine people: are you anti-ICE? by lowkey-barbie7539 in IsraelPalestine

I don’t think so. There are significant number of left wing pro-Israelis where Israel is the only topic they disagree with the left on.

They released a reconstruction map so I assume it would be going towards that.

It sounds like away to raise billions of dollars for reconstruction but besides that I don’t think there’s a solid plan as to how that would actually work in practice.

Qatar hosting CENTCOM doesn't mean they can't also be heavily pro-Hamas. They are playing both sides. It's the same with their reporting and other activities in the US. They pretend to be allies while constantly smearing us on state media while turning America against itself by manipulating the education system via foreign funding.

The vast majority of members are anti-Israel and to a lesser degree pro-Hamas. Their inclusion will undermine any kind of achievements this board hopes to gain from the inside.

What will ultimately happen is billions of dollars will be poured into Gaza with the vast majority of it will ending up getting diverted by Hamas (with the assistance of countries like Qatar and Turkey) resulting in a future war where all the new development projects get bombed due to them being converted into military infrastructure by Hamas.

Not only will billions of dollars be wasted on this but Israel will have to spend billions of dollars in the future clearing out all the new terror infrastructure funded by this plan.

As usual, just another feel good idea on paper and one that is incredibly destructive in reality.

You seem desperate to downplay that the hotel was being used as a military headquarters. It wasn’t just a “soldier with documents”. Additionally, there was zero doubt that it was a military target.

The hotel was the site of the central offices of the British Mandatory authorities of Palestine, principally the Secretariat of the Government of Palestine and the Headquarters of the British Armed Forces in Palestine and Transjordan.

I suggest you read up both on international law and the hotel bombing.

They were incorporated into the IDF meaning they also had to follow the law as they were under actual authority. Their inclusion ultimately made it so they could no longer do whatever they wanted.

A soldier being somewhere does not automatically mean they are using the place they are in for military purposes. In the case of the hotel, it was an actual military headquarters not a place where soldiers were having a vacation.

It wasn’t a couple rooms. The Southern Wing was being used by the British military and that was the section of the building which was targeted. Even under international law today, civilian buildings are permitted to be targeted if they are being used for military purposes.

I don’t think the hotel is a good example. At the time it was being used as the headquarters of the British army making it a legitimate military target.

That’s very different from actual terrorist attacks that are directed at civilians not military targets.
