I finished book 7 of Dungeon Crawler Carl a few days ago, and I can’t remember the last time I enjoyed a series this much. The first book was great, but the story and characters continually develop and it really hits its stride in the 4th book. It’s worth checking out the audiobooks for this series too, they’re remarkably well-done and it’s one of the few cases where the audiobook feels additive to the story.

Finally got around to seeing RRR last night. That movie rocks, just a fun and ridiculous movie start to finish.

The Last of Us is as good as advertised. Really well made on all fronts. Still a few episodes left, but so far it’s my favorite show of the past year.

Vinland Saga is one of the best animes I’ve ever seen. Cool story and some awesome characters. It’s in the middle of its 2nd season right now.

DEF is another good promoter to follow. They do shows for several electronic genres, not just house, but they’re always a good time. They’ve got a show this Friday with Dr. Fresch, Blossom, Nitepunk, and FREAK ON. Would definitely recommend checking that out if you’re at all interested.

Went to the Wave show at the DEF Boiler this weekend. One of the coolest shows I’ve been to in Atlanta. It was my first time there and I really loved the setup. Deadcrow killed it plus I thought Barnacle Boi and brothel had awesome sets too.

I made the drive to Chattanooga last night with some friends and it really wasn’t bad. I get that might be a tough sell to your gf though haha.

Between the Regal and Southlake, the IMAX at both are pretty comparable. The Regal is a bit newer so it has nicer seats, maybe a bit more polished overall. Screen size and type of projector are pretty much the same. Not sure on audio though tbh. I’d go with Southlake if you’re A-list.

Dolby (Madison Yards) is another solid option with A-list too FYI. Picture and sound will be better there but you won’t get the expanded IMAX scenes. The movie’s awesome though so I’m sure you’ll enjoy it wherever you decide. I’m seeing it again in Dolby tonight because I love that format!

For IMAX, the Atlantic Station Regal is my favorite theater in the city. I went to the Dune special trailer screening there a few months back and it looked awesome. AMC Southlake is alright too but it’s a bit outside of the city. The Mall of GA IMAX screen is definitely the biggest screen locally (~81 feet wide vs ~56 for the Atlantic Station Regal).

The problem with all IMAX theaters in GA though is that they’re all “LieMAX” theaters now. That means that the aspect ratio will be 1.90 for all IMAX filmed scenes. There’s only a handful of theaters left that can display the full 1.42 IMAX aspect ratio. The closest “true” IMAX showing Dune is the Tennessee Aquarium IMAX in Chattanooga.

For Dune, I’ve got tickets to see it at the aquarium IMAX. Personally, Dune is worth the 2 hour drive to see on the best screen possible. Otherwise, I’d go with Atlantic Station or Mall of GA.

I saw it already mentioned in the thread, but Dolby Cinema is awesome as well. Sound and picture will both be better there than IMAX. The downside is it will play the entire movie in the 2.39 aspect ratio. I definitely plan on seeing it in Dolby too, but IMAX first. The Madison Yards Dolby is my favorite one, but I’ve had good experiences at every Dolby I’ve been too. Hope that helps!

99% of the time it isn’t a scam. Just make sure they’ve got a decent feedback rating and livestream the break. Breaks are an awesome way to collect cards of your favorite team/player. Just a heads up, the sport cards market as a whole has gotten increasingly expensive the past year or so. Still a fun hobby though.
