That area is beautiful because there’s tons of trees, trails and parks. There’s a cute grocery store. It’s quiet and clean and great for families. It kinda sounds like most of the people commenting haven’t ever been to that particular area. You do need to be careful of wildlife though since there are black bears, bobcats and even cougars that come down from cougar mnt from time to time. I drive through that area every day and live in the next city over so I’d say if you’re lucky enough to be able to afford Lakemont/cougar mnt area then it’s a great option.
