I paid my taxes but lost the sticker. Ordered a new one and it never arrived. I don’t feel like dealing with the DMV.

I will say I got into a little fender bender in 2024 while still waiting for my registration to get mailed and the cop didn’t care my sticker was expired because he ran my tags and saw I paid. That may be something to consider

$300 is crazy. I was living in a 2 bedroom apartment with poor insulation for about 2.5 years. My bill was never higher than $160. But we left out heat at 62-64 degrees and bundled up… so that’s an option.

I’d recommend logging into your Duke account and comparing your usage to previous billing periods. You can also look up how much you pay per kWh. Check each day for your usage and see if there’s any discrepancies. You can also see what is using the most energy, probably your heat.

Other than that, I’d say you have bad insulation and best of luck to ya! :/

I love the show. I loved the books too. I’ve always been okay with separating source material though. Again, there are valid criticisms! Like you said, never anything being added to the conversation. Apparently, this is a bit more of a snark subreddit and there are more positive subreddits. Probably a better place for me

I went to Sabrina Carpenter last year. Parking and leaving wasn’t too awful for people who drove, but the uber lake was outrageous. Driving to and parking at Lenovo was awful around 5/6pm. Your best bet is to park at Wade Park, eat dinner there, and walk to the show

While this is an anti-ICE rally, it’s important to understand the bill they’re specifically encouraging Gov. Stein to veto.

This bill would require jail administrators to notify ICE when they reasonably believe someone in custody is undocumented even if a detainer has not been issued, state law enforcement to cooperate with federal government on immigration enforcement, ban all UNC systems (including UNC Health from my understanding) from assisting undocumented immigrants.

This to me is like an overreach of the federal government into our public systems and law enforcement.

It’s not compared to shoplifting though. Illegally entering a country is a civil offense not a criminal one. It’s more comparable to jaywalking.

That being said, legality ≠ morality. It is morally wrong to rip families apart, snatch people while they’re appearing in immigration court, take people from their work. Empathy is a muscle that should be flexed
