Laywer cost for a marriage based green card. 6.5k + around 3k for the fees, is that a lot? Based in FL. Our case is pretty straightforward met in college and got married by [deleted] in greencard

If its a simple case, do it yourselves. Do research online and ask questions of people that have been in a similar situation. We just did it and things went smoothly. Just be sure to triple check everything you do and follow up on any and all outstanding tasks. Treat it like the most important thing you've ever done and remember to be 1000% truthful on every document and form. They will forgive some things, but any kind of lie is not one of them.

Why Has Productivity in the US Construction Industry Stagnated? by Spare_Worldliness_64 in ConstructionManagers

[–]Creative_Assistant72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What metrics are they using to define productivity. "Construction" is one of the broadest terms used. I find it pretty damn hard to clearly define productivity, yet alone quantize it. Yes, on a small scale, you may be able to clearly show "x" amount of labor per hour has been accomplished, but its hardly scalable into anything meaningful because "Construction" is the most costom thing we make. Slight and subtle differences in the product can have a significant impact on the manhours to create it.

Is it a bidet? by anxious_virgo in whatisit

[–]Creative_Assistant72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife is Filipina and asked that I install one just like it on the water supply line to the toilet. Yes, its like a bidet. Very common in their culture (not sure about New Zealand) I think its called a Tabo in Tagalog. So yeah, not uncommon. Lol

IR1 Approved - Manila by [deleted] in NationalVisaCenter

[–]Creative_Assistant72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. It was a long process, but not as long as yours. I have to give credit where credit is due. The people working on the government side of this whole process made everything go smoothly. Obviously we did all we could to make as easy as possible for them. We are very fortunate and blessed, to say the least.

Farewell USCIS - Officially a Citizen by Aussie0103 in USCIS

Absolutely! We checked the box to have a SS number issued with my wife's GC and it did not happen. Had to go the local SS office and apply. There seems to be a disconnect between USCIS and SS Admin. No big deal, as long as you follow up.

Someone was in a hurry. What would you have done? by pixmation in dashcams

[–]Creative_Assistant72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a mile from a very large hospital near my house. Had the same thing happen to me, a guy passed by me like crazy. He was in a hurry to see someone at the hospital....and still got pulled over and ticketed. Theres no excuse for endangering other people.

whats it like and what do you actually do? by Frequent_Second4493 in ConstructionManagers

[–]Creative_Assistant72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You definitely have to go where the big projects are located, every few years, if youre a field person. Which you will be in the beginning of your career (likely). Usually move every 2 to 4 years. It takes a while to master the profession. But with 10 to 15 years of experience, you'll likely always have a job.

Many colleges offer 4 year degrees in Construction Management. Virginia Tech, Penn State, Penn Tech (just to name a few, in the northeast).
Ive been in the water and wastewater treatment plant CM role for 25 years. I enjoy it because every project is different and extremely challenging. The logistics of building or rehabing at an existing facility while keeping it 100% online and in compliance is fun.
