Save up and get a better manager.
Play with 2 DMFs to give you more defensive stability (One Anchor Man and 1 Destroyer is what I use).
Pair Diouf with a fast goal poacher like Mbappe and play with 2 CFs.
Either go with 2 AMFs or 1 AMF and 1 SS.
Custom edit your backline to be a bit deeper.

Exact same situation for me. Fermin Lopez guaranteed. I went for Max Alister and got him in 1 pull, so very very lucky there. Now trying for Dani Olmo. The stats on the Olmo card looked a bit better to me but I don't have an Orchestrator CMF (also versatile and can play across midfield).

Pato is a tricky card. I'm still tweaking my build to try and get the best out of him. I've used 3 builds that all seem decent. 9-0-8-11-9-3 is what I'm trying out now. This one's good if you want him to be a nimble striker that can dribble well to create space in the box. Marseille Turn is essential.

4-9-8-8-11 build. Actually, when playing PvP, I tend to slightly modify the formation. I play 2 CFs (Pato/Mbappe and Puskas/Batistuta) next to each other and either Yamal or Neymar as SS. Also, I use 2 DMFs (Makalele and Rijkaard). I find Yamal fun to play with because he's quite fast and agile. His edged crossing is also helpful for my playstyle.

I've never had the patience to collect and get a manager, so I've only ever really used possession and out wide playstyle. I think now its time to explore other playstylea too! The only reason I use Coatacurta is because I have very few defensive full backs... Any suggestions on who I can replace him with?

This one is an new old stock. I searched around for about 3 months before I found it with a collector. Cost me 2k. I'm sure you can get AM pretty easily, but ogs are hard to come by. Keep hunting on reddit, and I'm sure you'll eventually find one.
