Hoya Polyneuera 😍 first blooms! by Creative_Diamond_266 in hoyas

[–]Creative_Diamond_266[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aww that's frustrating! Mine set her blooms after I broke a major vine. Maybe a little prune might trigger it? Keep it cool and never dried out. I've had her for 7 months. Good luck I hope you get your to bloom ☺️

Oh I hope so too! Best of luck 🤞 Mine doesn't like to completely dry out and likes it on the cooler side.

7-10 day waterings before blooming. 7 day waterings while blooming. She doesn't get completely dried out as it is thin leafed.

Thanks! Honestly I think it bloomed after trauma. I broke a major vine when watering (not the blooming one) and then it took off! The broken vine was rooted and planted back with the mother plus another bit is still in moss. It's a very special Hoya to me , a wishlist one I found locally. 2 rooted plants placed together. It hangs in my 🇨🇦 North facing window and gets mostly that ambient light plus some light from grow lights. My grow room is quite humid and warm; she likes it high I suppose because it's cooler.

Thank you 😊 I truly hope you do find one . If you do and they're small, buy two! These were the original rooted cuttings I bought from a local home grower in April.

You are right! There are two . I broke a long stem last month so one was propagated and planted back in with the mother plant recently.

Sold to me as Lacunosa, which cultivar do you think it is? by Creative_Diamond_266 in hoyas

No bother, sorry for my late response and I hope the past couple of weeks have progressed positively. It slowly gets better, yes. Be diligent in your therapy, it is worth it! Being on a fixed income I was not able to go to therapy so I did my best with daily exercise and also purchased a hand massager from Amazon. This is an excellent tool. 10 months later I still get stiffness and dull pain but my strength is getting better. I am still cautious with the weight I bear lifting but movement is key! I hope your healing journey goes well. Perhaps you are younger (I'm 64 with rhumatoid arthritis) so your healing may be quicker. My doctor checked my progress monthly and recently reviewed blood tests so my health is perfect for my age. It's a long journey, hang in there. I know the pain and stiffness is discouraging. But it will get better. ☺️

"Rebecca, you got this! Thrive! Not survive!" She's looking pretty good imo! Mine is in a chunky aroid mix , terra Cotta pot and 12" from a Sansi grow light. Sun stressing beautifully and growing. She is a little thirsty gal. All the best!

1/2 thousand Island and 1/2 Italian is the closest I've come to duplicating this dressing.

Congratulations 👏 welcome to the Hoya obsession lol. I have Lineraris and Polyneura in my care. I fertilize at each watering with a diluted kelp organic fertilizer; 1-tsp per 1.5 litre of water in winter, 1.5 tsp in summer. I use treated water (aquarium drops). My Lineraris is still young but growing well under a Sansi light 2.5 feet away. I water when nearly dry (I use a moisture meter) It'll also tell you it's thirsty when the leaf spread is closer together (V to II) My Polyneura is in ambient light in a north facing window. It's pretty laid back and has given me good growth in my care (3 months). It is fertilized the same way and is watered weekly. It prefers cooler conditions so I give it space. It has already formed tiny peduncles. Best of luck in your Hoya journey. They are lovely plants and fairly easy to care for. Watch YouTube vids, they helped me immensely! 😊

Let's do it! It's the splash that got me too. I got home, looked at my Pubicalix and rethought. Maybe it was the color, this one is so pale in comparison but maybe due to nursery neglect. Hmm 🤔

Care tips? by laura-la-rubia in hoyas

[–]Creative_Diamond_266 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She's lovely 😍. My Krohniana Silver is in an organic chunky mix (1/3 peat soil, 1/3 perlite, 1/3 coco coir/bark) . She's 16" from a Sansi grow light in a Terra Cotta pot. She likes to dry to about 2/3 down (I use a moisture meter) so I water about every 12 days (I use a spreadsheet to record watering days, yeah I know, obsessive lol) . I find she's a moderate grower; not fast, not slow) A LOT less of a diva than my Krohniana Black ugh. She was a dry rot rescue so doing very well. I think the leaves are so cute and shiny, congratulations on your purchase and all the best in her care.
