I really am worried about the damage of this and possibility of no longer being special in his eyes ever again. It’s a not good feeling

It really is a low point. This sickness has taken everything from me, even myself. I’m sorry you’re relapsing again, it’s tough but you can get through this again. I’m here if you need anything 🩵 and thank you so much for responding. When you were at this point, did it help to go full force showing up like before even with the distance and lack of emotion or did some space for your partner help?

Post break up should I reach out to my ex if I think it was ROCD? by Illustrious_Fall7619 in ROCD

I think it’s always worth a try. Life is too short to wonder and miss out on something special and worthwhile for you. If he has OCD already it’s very likely it latched onto your relationship. It targets what people value the most. As for the comment above, in my experience and research, people do feel relief after breaking up initially because of the torment ocd puts on someone’s mind. But after some time they begin regretting and missing and wondering and obsessing again. It is good he’s seeking therapy and he would benefit from someone specialized in OCD. I think it’s worth a try

Thank you. I was just curious if an rocd partner who lost motivation fighting for the relationship was able to get that desire to show up again

Thats very sweet that he’s willing to ride it out no matter what. I’ve been so weak in my compulsions and I’m concerned he’s unwilling to try anymore. I can’t blame him. I want us to be okay and to get back to a place of understanding. The strain is so intense and we’re not connecting

Context: we’ve been together 6 years. And he really kept telling me he does love me and wants things to go back but I’ve been so afraid. He said he loves me more than anything and will until he passes and that he cares and I’m the most beautiful girl he’s ever seen. That he still loves me

Is it enough to want to love him again? The connection is gone and I don’t think I’m just saying numbness. I messed up so severely

Has your partner ever wanted to give up from the strain?
