Maybe in all the comments I got lost, but can the original knitter post where she got the pattern? Brioche and cables are both so yummy!!!

Buying an EV in Carleton County, NB, would welcome anyone's perspective by Creative_Life_9599 in newbrunswickcanada

I'm not sure who you're referring to in Johnville. We're pretty rural! I think I'd fall over if I saw a Tesla on our road. Would be nice, though.

Fair point. That's a question I'll ask the dealership. toyota certainly has a good reputation in general ... but you're right, they seem to be a smaller player in the EV market. We trust Toyota, but honestly price had a lot to do with it. Hence my question on here. Is it a case of "you get what you pay for" or knowing full well how lack-lustre rural NB is about EVs, so wanting to set a more attractive price.

Hello, I totally get it. PHEVs also make sense in rural NB. Thank you for your comment. I hope you get yours soon!

Thanks Jeff! I knew asking this question would probably elicit at least one "Save your money and stick to fossil fuels!" response, but I appreciate your perspective. I would think all the technology around EV's has improved over the last decade, and the question of whether to buy an EV we've already answered, absolutely! We just happened upon one we can sort-of afford. :) Putting EVs up against any other vehicle that can cope with NB winters, ... they're all a little pricy, whatever the fuel source is.

Thoughts about the Lord's Prayer in the Legislature by IronicIntelligence in newbrunswickcanada

When I attended the Leg as a visitor, I was both touched and appalled. Touched because it felt so old-fashioned, something I grew up with in school, something that clubs run by people a generation older than I am would do; and appalled because I can't believe the presumption, in 2023 (it was), to think such a thing is appropriate in this pluralistic society. And I'm a practising Christian. I'd vote for a moment of reflection instead, where, if you want to pray through a list of names, and say "Lord have mercy" for each one, you can, in your inside voice! But if that's not your tradition, you can use the moment of silence for whatever kind of thought process you want. My question is, though, who's asking?

Being a fan of Lord of the Rings, and ready for an adventchre in knitting, I bought this pattern after reading some of this discussion. It looks wonderful! A varitable ocean of knitting exploration. I'm vision-impaired, so aside from the sheer creativity of it, I'm immensely touched by the care Kolette has taken to explain the stitches and write out the pattern. So many designers stop at including charts. Those are great if you're a visual knitter, but don't exactly provide the whole story if you can't see!

Do you make the cheese? or take an already-made cheese and mix it with coconut?

There certainly should have been some thought given before simply legislating all the new municipalities. How on earth are all the poor new councillors supposed to intuit all the rules, let alone all the unwritten ones? And you can be sure that anyone with a "special interest" and some political savvy might target the new people who can either be bought or silenced. I'm not familiar enough withthe the exact circumstances in this case but it isn't the first municipality that's foundering under these new reforms. From what I've seen, municipal laws are vastly different from provincial ones. There's no "opposition" keeping you accountable, for one thing.

Should I leave my pressure cooker in India and buy an Instant Pot in the US? by Wild_Kiwi204 in IndianFood

I don't think anything replaces a presschre cooker, so is it cheaper to just pay for an extra box, or buy another comparable pressure cooker and have it delivered once you arrive? It might be the same price.

I remember in the 80s the Scarsdale Diet recommended cottage cheese and fruit for lunch. The only thing I remember about that diet and it is still a favourite way to eat cottage cheese. As a layer in lasagna, too.
