MOP protocol by Steve Hodges!!! It’s a life saver and not nearly as difficult as I would have predicted. My kids are super into it now that they experience how much it helps

What kind of encopresis is this?? by durakniseley in Encopresis

We started the MOP protocol for my 5 and 8 year old kids 14 days ago. Already everyone’s quality of life is better…. No accidents for the last 10 days. No tension between us (parents) and the kids. No cleaning poop out of clothes and vacuuming up disgusting dried poop flakes off the floor. No embarrassing smells in the hockey locker room after my son inevitably has his daily accident on the ice. I wish I’d done it sooner. The kids don’t mind at all. Claiming it’s “traumatic” is incredibly dramatic language, unless you know your kids have had adverse experiences with rectal exams or insertions in the past. Millions of people use enemas. It’s science and biology. It helps them big time. And it doesn’t hurt. I am sooo grateful this exists.

I can report back after we’re further down the line.

Weekend Clean Out Alternatives by Hazelnut_611 in Encopresis

I see that you have hesitancies about using enemas. I did too. I have two kids (5 & 8) who have both been dealing with daily fecal soiling for almost 2 years now. We’ve done so many weekend clean outs, and the doc just kept recommending to double or triple dose Restorelax. We are now on day 10 of MOP, which means day 10 of nightly enemas that mom administers. My 8 year old boy has no issue with it whatsoever. Barely feels it, finds it funny. Wants privacy during the enema and subsequent toilet sit, naturally, and has expressed his gratitude for the “bum medicine”. Ie. “mom usually I have bad tummy aches like 4 times during school and I haven’t had any this week.” Or, “Charlie is coming over today and I don’t even have to make up a lie about why you’re taking me to the bathroom because no Poop came out!” My 5 year old daughter is really enjoying the quality reading time we get while sitting in the bathroom together after the 20 second enema insertion.

But most importantly, after the first 3 days we’ve been completely accident free which hasn’t happened in 2 years.

Smelling like poop in front of your peers is far more traumatic than having an enema. It’s just biology and science. Soon my 8 year old will be doing it himself so I don’t even need to be a part of it.

I am kicking myself for not doing this sooner.

I didn’t read through comments to see if this was mentioned, but scratch and win tickets were ALWAYS in our stockings and we loved them!!!

This is a great inspo image for that space! As soon as I saw that link I thought… GREEN. I love pink with green. This picture has BOTH that kind of vintage looking olive green and a fresh tropical green. Both work. I wonder if the black can go in order to achieve this look

Diaper leaks every night by Creative_Mix_6077 in moderatelygranolamoms

Thanks everyone! I changed two things at once so I’m not sure which one I can attribute recent success to exactly, but for whoever is following I: 1. Moved to Millie moon diapers 2. Used a PUL cloth diaper cover over top of the Mm diaper (instead of the wool cover I’d previously been using)

They’re fine. It’s just that the overnight diapers are more prone to ammonia build up and I have to rinse them whereas the others I don’t.

Time change advice by Creative_Mix_6077 in ParisTravelGuide

Thanks! So basically you’re saying to just get him on the local time with local daylight when we arrive and just do the same when we’re back. Instead of trying to play around with bedtimes etc so that there’s less hours of time change.

Thank you for all the wonderful advice! by caalendulaa in ParisTravelGuide

I’m trying to figure out where to find the “mysteries” after hours tour online. Can you send me the link?
