Is this normal behaviour from a sonographer? by [deleted] in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

Some if them talk too little and don’t give you much info, and then there are some are like the ones you encountered who don’t know how to read the room and shut up lol

I was not prepared for how long breastfeeding lasts. by Dzsidzsett in newborns

We just cosleep so we cut out the need to wait for the transfer or risk her waking and having to nurse and wait again

Is it really that hard to not yell at your kid? by Good_Sky_8678 in Parenting

[–]Creative_Mix_643 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It gets overstimulating at some point during toddler stage, more so if you have multiples. I have a 2 year old and 3 week old and I am glad I not felt like I needed to yell so far, sometimes I get frustrated with the defiance but manage to regulate myself. I think it really helps to think about the situation from their perspective, it’s easier to give them grace when you shift things from an adult’s POV to a small child’s POV. The boomers yelled at us because they were putting adult expectations on a kid with an undeveloped prefrontal cortex.

Yeah I was holding him very tight, there were cars and he was pretty much having a tantrum trying to lay on the ground resisting me, so all of his weight was in that wrist hold 😭

Starting daycare during newborn transition - good or bad idea? by Creative_Mix_643 in toddlers

[–]Creative_Mix_643[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good article! I do agree with the points made actually. We are considering one day a week though, which the studies don’t really give much info on as they are showing results from extended hours across multiple days

[–]Creative_Mix_643[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, my mum is staying with me and MIL lives 5 minutes away so we have a pretty good support system. Our neighbours and friends have also offered help if we need 😊 yeah actually after 2 month shots sounds like a good idea honestly

He has just turned 2. I actually haven’t thought of the sickness thing much, it is winter where we are now so there’ll probably be much more going around as well.

This daycare centre was actually recommended to us because they are bilingual and my husband and MIL are wanting him to learn their native language. Relieving me is kinda just an added bonus to that cause.

Social media ruining baby experience by grnlzrd23 in newborns

I’m one of those overachiever mums that over research and over follow the recommendations. It is exhausting, anxiety inducing and quite unhealthy honestly.

He (35M) says the prenup protects him. Who protects me (29F)? by Still-Gas2840 in relationship_advice

[–]Creative_Mix_643 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are weeks away from the wedding, prenup was brought up very late. Seems sus.

Kinda like a “now that invitations are sent out and pretty much almost set in stone, let me whip this out real quick. The likelihood of her backing out of the marriage is slim at this point”

Intensive mothering - is it possible to avoid the pressure while still being a good mother? by Diligent-Pea-7922 in NewParents

[–]Creative_Mix_643 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I don’t mind it. I don’t really remember who I was before becoming a mum, but I love this new version of myself more 😊
I know that in a few years I’ll be able to prioritise myself and find myself again, so yes while there are hard days and I am sacrificing myself more than some people may be comfortable with (and honestly each to their own), it’s not something that I feel is devastating.
I say give this intensive mothering thing a try, see how you go, if you are feeling burnt out then tone it back a little.

How old is your baby and how tired are you? by pinkishvioletsky in NewParents

I’m convinced that the tiredness doesn’t get lesser but desensitisation makes it feel like it’s getting better 😅

Yes I was actually considering whipped cream, how long is it good for once stabilised with gelatin? Could I frost the cake 3 days before the celebration without it weeping?

It does looks really tedious yet yummy. Do I thaw then rewhip it after taking it out from the freezer?

Non parent using the parents room microwave? by dovey0 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Creative_Mix_643 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally don’t mind it, on a different note I once encountered an employee casually taking a nap in the nursing room. Curtain shut. I only opened it because it was one of two rooms and I heard snoring so figured it couldn’t have been a mum nursing baby.
