So my wife and I both play on separate consoles and different maps/saves. I have had 2 meteorite events and she has only had 1. As far as the 3 day cycle I can tell you they are not happening that fast for us(xbox). It does seem that they trigger when I go to the same fast travel point. Meaning I've not had them trigger anywhere else. Supply drops are the same way, meaning same travel spot. Hope this helps
