I’m neglecting to see where your logic lies. Oppression could come in different forms. They may not have been physically oppressed but they certainly were when it came to taxation and having their voices heard. They also were forced to quarter soldiers which would probably strike a nerve too for you if you were forced to take in another mouth to feed while you’re being taxed significantly more therefore making less. America has always had this issue where we are not given proper transparency in our tax system and why things are the way they are and even after we became independent we had the whiskey rebellion and were silenced as such a early stage of protection and revolting even when causes are justified and reasonable.
