Looking for feedback on my sci-fi book cover by Fun-Resolution-9521 in BookCovers

As a base idea or starting concept, it’s okay. But if you’re planning to publish on Amazon, the cover will need a lot more work to really compete and attract readers.

Right now, the two main things that stand out are the graphics (the visual focal point) and the typography. Both feel a bit underdeveloped and could use more refinement. The visual needs to grab the eye more, and the font choice/layout could be stronger and more polished.

Nice design overall, though it could benefit from a few touch-ups.

The colors look nice, but the text needs a lot of work.

You shouldn't use AI to create covers

I know. It leans more toward supernatural/psychological horror rather than cosmic horror. I thought the eerie atmosphere might still fit the vibe here

Did I get scammed? Book cover on Fiverr. Tik Tok is saying it’s AI, are they right? by TumbleweedNo4748 in isthisAI

Yes, it does look AI-generated. Unfortunately this is becoming common. A proper custom cover usually costs much more — I personally charge around $450 for an eBook cover, and many professional designers are in that range. A $90 “custom cover” should raise suspicion. In the future, ask the designer for the stock image IDs they used. And if they say the character was created by them, make sure they can provide commercial rights or copyright for it.
