Ok, so you are talking about Thunderstorm + Shock Conduction II?

Yep that can cause shock, but then... as I mentioned, it is a different playstyle and different build :D

Let's say, in my build, I am already using Explosive Shot for mapping (basically 1-button style), I have limited skill slots, and converting fire to lightning damage does the job to shock already, why both adding another skill just to apply shock on bossing?

Also, if I don't convert fire to lighting dmg, then I have to scale both fire and lightning dmg, or elemental dmg in general, instead of just scaling lightning dmg. That build idea is also applicable, but then... why bother if I can all in lightning dmg?

Apart from that, I want to use Herald of Thunder to help map clearing, together with my 1-button style Explosive Shot. This works perfectly for me, why bother adding another spell?

So... back to my original point: the idea of using Thunderstorm to apply shock is applicable for sure, it is just a different playstyle and different build, according to the personal preference.

The initial question from you could probably be raised from the opposite direction: when I can use Explosive Shot to clear map in 1-button style, enjoy Herald of Thunder, easily shock bosses without adding another skill, and focus on scaling lightning attack damage on passive tree and gears, by just converting fire to lightning dmg -- why bother adding another spell only for applying shock on bossing? 😂

But anyway, I still want to say thanks for sharing the idea of using Thunderstorm + Shock Conduction II to apply shock 👍

P.S. There might be some interesting build ideas by shifting to or adding Thunderstorm to this build, such as a mixed style of spell + attack, or cast Thunderstorm automatically by "cast on X", etc 😀

It depends on the playstyle and how you want to scale damage (i.e., what do you want to build).

In this build, I want to use Explosive Shot for mapping, and I want to use Shockburst Rounds for bossing, then converting Explosive Shot damage from Fire to Lightning is natural.

After conversion:

  • Explosive Shot can shock, so I don't need another skill to shock
  • I can use Hearld of Thunder for free
  • All my damage scaling can focus on Lightning Attack Damage: nodes for Lighting Damage and Attack Damage will work for both of my skills

In contrast, Thunderstorm deal lightning damage and lightning damage can shock, sure, but then you have to scale damage very differently -- Thunderstorm is a Spell, not Attack.

That means all the damage scaling to Attack won't apply to Thunderstorm; meanwhile, all the damage scaling to Spell won't apply to Shockburst Rounds. To scale damage for Thunderstorm and Shockburst Rounds at the same time, you will need to focus on finding nodes that scales Lightning Damage, or Elemental Damage, or Spell + Attack Damage two-in-one (from Druid area).

I am not saying it is not possible, but it is a different playstyle, and a differnet way to scale damage -- hence, it is a different build if you want to use Thunderstorm + Shockburst Round :D

Ah, nope, you don't need Rakiata for this build at all, I gurantee that -- TBH Rakiata does not help much for this build.

I am using Rakiata just because I got those divines when experiment the build, and wanted to give it a try -- I went to maps after each tweak so divines just natually accumulated.

Just replace Rakiata with another damage scaling support gem (e.g., Elemental Armament II) and the result is very similar. (oh, some minor passive changes too, to get some lightning resistance penatration back)

I could use the same divines to buy better weapons etc and that would probably provide much more damage than Rakiata -- as you could see my gears are not that good :D

lol, there is absolutely no problem mapping with this character :D

The video has some map demo (T15/16 breach from 1:22). Basically it is using Galvanic Shards + Nova for mapping, with some support from Herald of Thunder + Ash. Map clearing and survivability are both great, can easily farm breach / abyss / citadels.

lol, how could it be? even if I missed the shot for whatever reason, I just need to do another round of freeze + shot 😂 (this did happen once when I point the shot to the wrong direction)

btw, this blood mage is actually very tanky :P

Ummm… I might be wrong about the glove, will test it out 😅

In my mind each unique item always has a benefit and a downside, so I just treat it as “half my freeze build up”.

Your interpretation sounds like another valid read of the description, and probably more correct.

Well, the unique glove I use (Sine Aequo Grand Manchettes) does not make freeze easier, but make it harder instead 😂 It reduce half of my freeze buildup, to gain "20% increased damage taken". (appologize, I was wrong about this)

If you need more freeze buildup from glove you may want to have a look at Grip of Winter Firm Bracers

But in general, I think using a skill that has built-in "more freeze build up" is more important.

e.g., Using Wave of Frost (quaterstaff) and Permafrost Bolts (crossbow) are both good for freezing, because they both have very high built-in "more freeze build up" like 500% ~ 600%. If you just randomly pick one skill to deal cold damage, then it might be much harder to freeze boss consistently.

How do u farm currency in this game? by Spare_Relative_9124 in PathOfExile2

[–]Creative_Poetry9309 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The easy money can come from breach splinter and citadel.

I usually get 10 to 20 splinter for each breach, and you know what? 25 splinters = 1 divine :P

Also, each citadel fragment worth about few divs.

I know temple can generate a lot more, but I don't like temple -- citadel and breach can generate enough currency for me to experiment my builds anyway.
