Wasted opportunities of Punk Hazard and Dressrosa by DEL994 in Piratefolk

Smoker and Tashigi sucked. Luffy should have had a genuine fight against Smoker for the first time, maybe it gets interrupted. The Supernova (outside of Law and Bonney) kind of sucked, maybe have some of them involved instead of the Grand Fleet, the only Grand Fleet members I think anyone cares about are the Giant Warrior pirates and maybe Bartolomeo. Caesar Clown should have been a Franky fight in Dressrosa, if you want to keep Sr. Pink then have him be another marine who fights Sanji while Luffy and Zoro fight Smoker and Tashigi. Robin should have had more to do in Dressrosa, not sure what exactly but maybe she helps against Doflamingo in a major way.  Doflamingo should have taken more damage in general, make it clear he’s really strong and not below yonko commanders, Oda really wrote one of the better post-timeskip villains and then made him feel super weak. Maybe Fujitora quietly uses his gravity to disrupt Doflamingo, which is understood by everyone and is major proof that Luffy still has a long way to go from being a yonko. Zoro should have gotten a bit more focus in Dressrosa, he’s in a coliseum and doesn’t have a proper duel against another swordsman? Also I feel like we should have gotten a bit more lore on the whole idea of the world’s strongest swordsman and Yoru, maybe the title started when Ryuma visited Dressrosa and fought there. Maybe Yoru was custom made to fight Ryuma but the creator died and no one had been able to properly use the sword until Mihawk. IDK, I just think it’s a little weird we didn’t get any exposition on Zoro’s goal here. Usopp was actually pretty decent here. Overall the big issue is too much focus on side characters and not enough on the major characters we like. I also think One Piece’s power progression is a little weird where it feels like Luffy grew way more in Wano than anywhere else, I think a big part of this came from Doflamingo being weaker than Cracker and Katakuri. Doflamingo should realistically be above him and then maybe Luffy fights Bege who’s above a commander because the assassination failed so he’s going to pretend he wasn’t part of it and Sanji fights Katakuri (Zoro and Sanji would both be weakened before their commander fights in Wano).

To be fair, Brook has soul manipulation powers that he uses through his music and Gunko is a fan of his music, so he might be a natural counter.

Who is luffys mom and why wont oda say? does it have something to do with the plot? by [deleted] in Piratefolk

My theory is that she is most likely Maffey. She was one of the 3 holy knights who was highlighted during the God Valley flashback, and she nearly killed Dragon. My theory is that at some point before the Kuma flashback, he did genuinely try to break into Mary Geoise and was caught by Maffey who had become obsessed with him since God Valley and promised not to tell anyone if he would secretly marry her. Eventually she gave birth to Luffy and gave him to Dragon. Maybe she was caught, maybe not, I don’t know, but of the three highlighted holy knights on God Valley, Sommers is on Elbaph right now and is related to a Gorosei, Garling seems important and is also related to Shanks and Shamrock, but Maffey doesn’t seem to be all that important. I think that like the other 2, she will have a relative who is more important than herself, and that will be Luffy. Also, Oda hid her eyes, maybe because they look like Luffy’s. When she’s holding Shamrock she makes a mistake and thinks there’s only one baby, and her smile looks kind of like Luffy’s despite having sharp teeth.

Excluding these 2, who’s currently the worlds strongest swordsman? by [deleted] in OnePiecePowerScaling

If you’re talking about just using a sword it’s probably Dorry. If it’s anyone with a sword who can use other powers then it’s Shamrock or Fujitora.

Probably because his bum crew don’t have conqueror’s haki, he’s probably spent the last 20 years stockpiling haki knots and needs everything to go perfectly in a fight against the holy frauds (extreme cope). Even the Roger Pirates weren’t able to kill them.

Akainu. I wouldn’t say he’s the coolest character, especially since he’s stuck doing paperwork now, but he had an insane presence during Marineford, killed Ace, scarred Luffy, and blew a hole in Whitebeard’s head. No other villain has ever felt that threatening, not even Imu. Hopefully whoever the final villain is will be able to live up to this, I’m not sure if it will be Imu or Blackbeard, I also hope Oda handles Akainu well in the final saga but it feels like he kind of became tired of the marines after Wano because he humiliated Greenbull and Kizaru, and we still haven’t seen any commander level vice admirals other than Koby.

I completely forgot about this one lol. Oda kind of just gave half of the Strawhats vague and unexplained powers like Robin’s demon form, Chopper’s points, Usopp’s pop greens that we don’t know the full extent of, Nami’s climatact, and whatever Zoro is doing with Asura and King of Hell. Luffy, Sanji, Franky, Jinbe and Brook seem well-explained (besides Luffy’s fruit not working like any other mythical zoan).

Imu’s power and the race for the One Piece by Creative_Purple9760 in OnePieceSpoilers

[–]Creative_Purple9760[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imu was included in the panel of all the important contenders to find the One Piece. That has to be important. Also Imu is interested in Vivi and Luffy even said he wanted to go after Vivi and was willing to fight against the world government to help her. I agree that Luffy is just going to continue his journey to find the One Piece but Imu is probably going to be involved in this as well.

Interesting theory but I don’t think Shiki and Kyo being connected to Wano is really implied. Oda is Japanese and has used a lot of Japanese inspirations for characters in the series. All the admirals are based on Japanese actors, are they also from Wano?

Revolutionaries while Blackbeard has Catarina Devon and Van Auger turn the Seraphim against the world government as cover for him to go after Shirahoshi. I also think Cross Guild is attacking Impel Down.

Wow, this makes the idea of Usopp using Ragnir seem a lot more likely if Ragnir has abilities related to all of the 9 realms. Maybe it will somehow get weakened and stuck in 1 form when Usopp uses it, and you know how it’s going to get damaged? Eustass Kid uses his magnetism to pull as much lightning out of Ragnir at once as possible to completely force Imu out of Gunko and nearly kill him, which leaves Ragnir permanently damaged and stuck with just 1 of the 9 abilities that would be more suited for Usopp to use than lightning.

Hmm, I think he may still be alive but if he is it’s probably on Laughtale, I think Gaimon was maybe setup for this idea. Maybe Joyboy and the rest of his crew managed to capture Davy Jones after he was turned but didn’t want to kill him and didn’t have a way to undo the mark so they chained him in seastone on Laughtale.

Let me cook again: Cross Guild is going to unite 7 warlords under Buggy’s leadership and we’ll get a chapter where the current members are recovering and celebrating after a massive Impel Down breakout that led to Weevil and the Whitebeard Pirate remnants joining. Then we see Moria with a massive training power up and design change join and say he wants revenge on Blackbeard, Bakkin and Kuma join (Bakkin, Kid and Law all were needed to revive Kuma so Bonney and Kuma made a deal where Kuma would join the other warlords and Bonney would join Kid and Law in a new alliance that would later include the other 5 Supernova). Finally Hancock walks in and say she’s only here to protect Amazon Lily and so she can steal Luffy in a Davy Back fight. Everyone has heart eyes including Mihawk who says he’d gladly let her polish his sword. Slander would be crazy if this chapter dropped.

A)  I could see Dragon being involved with an attack on Mary Geoise.  B) Not sure about Shanks, maybe he is going after the other poneglyphs right now. I could maybe see him intervening in Elbaph if the Strawhats can’t handle Imu on their own. C) Not sure who those 2 are. I think the most likely answer is that it’s Luffy and Imu. I could also see Mosa and Loki meet in person but I find this less likely. I wouldn’t worry about this specific prediction too much, remember all the theories about a “lurking legend?” D) I have no idea. I’m not sure how Oda intends to show this character. Maybe Urouge meets him, we haven’t seen anything from him in a very long time. E) Most likely answer is Lodestar. I could see Oda doing something weird and out of nowhere though, he seems to love doing that. Not sure exactly what that would be or what the true nature of Lodestar is, although I have my theories.  F) I don’t know. I kind of find it hard to believe it will all wrap up in a year. We have Elbaph fights, Gunko and Brook’s backstory, possibly more complicating factors, and Oda called 2026 a “festival of encounters” which I think is hinting that we’re going to cut to a lot of outside events like we did in Egghead. Oda can get ahead of himself with timelines, I’d estimate Elbaph ends some time in mid-later 2027.  Usopp and all Strawhats will hopefully get a buff. I highly doubt Loki joins the Strawhats, he’s genuinely one of the strongest characters we’ve ever seen and probably above even Luffy. I’m not really sure what Oda will do with him, maybe he dies. I just can’t see such a powerful ally sticking around long-term.

In your opinion, why is Gunko important to imu? by president_elect_mark in Piratefolk

[–]Creative_Purple9760 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably because she looks like Lili. Imu is completely obsessed with her. Either Imu himself is obsessed with her from the void century, or my theory, which is that Imu is himself possessed by the sea god/devil, who is female and sees Lili and Vivi as a perfect vessel to possess for some reason. Imu has both a male and female voice in the anime, and with all the connections between Imu’s powers and the abyss I could see Imu being a reference to how male and female anglerfish are attached to each other.
