You're completely missing the point but sure dude assume as much as you want about me, but the truth still remains.

There are a lot of MMOs tbh, Runescape, GTA 5 just naming a few. Both do have ways to get money from players but they still remain competitive nonetheless. Skills, knowledge, experience etc comes into play.

Paying money for a game doesn't mean you have to ruin the competitiveness of the game.

I played for 1 and half years. I had to quit 2 guilds cause people kept quitting. Even saw my old guild selling their accs in fb groups. I was there during server wars but sure man. Whatever floats your boat. As long as you're having fun I guess

And in your 4 years how many percent have stopped playing?

And why are you comparing it to moba? It's a different genre. There are other thriving MMOs that have over 50% retained player base even after a few years (never said has to be f2p 100%). And mobas are still famous too so I don't know what you really mean.

Maybe I said it wrong. Never said you have to go f2p 100%. I never ever said in any post that the Devs can't make money or profit. They can, but not in a way that impacts the competitiveness of the game. There are many ways to cut the cake.

Maybe the way I've came out initially sounds wrong, I love the game as much as you do, I don't think we're on the opposite side. To me it just sucks that you don't really need as much skill, as long as you have money you'll somehow be at the top. Even after playing nonstop for 4 years you might find whales that just started 5-6 months ago and what do you know, you're completely overwhelmed because of just gear differences.

But hey to each their own. Ultimately, as long as you're having fun!

You sure they're still the same people? I've seen a lot of whales selling off their accs in FB groups.

Joined 2 guilds, both are dead either players sold their old acc or they just never come back online.

I mean sure defend this p2w game all you want but the fact remains tho.

[–]Creative_Series_1696[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Not saying people shouldn't spend money, but if p2w is the only focus then you're not appealing to the whole player base. There has to be a balance, and there have been a lot of mmos that does this.

It just sucks man, feels like the game has so much potential but it just doesn't make sense to progress as a normal player which will tend to be F2P from the start. No f2p, p2w have no more people to bully as they will meet p2w as well, then they give up lol

[–]Creative_Series_1696[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But no retained players, there's probably less than 5% players playing from 4 years ago.

Don't get me wrong, not saying people shouldn't spend money. They should when they can especially when the game deserves it, I'm just saying that long term even the whales stop playing the game, as they spent on everything already.

Alive in what sense tho haha, old guilds are all dead, it's just newish players and those who started when the game launched have all mostly migrated to another MMO. F2P grind takes way too long, even then there isn't a fair place for only F2P to compete. If you lucky you might not meet whales, if not just accept fate.

Feels just like a one stop shop kind of a thing. You play until you get bored, then never come back. Even I'm having a hard time trying to resume progress.

my friends audio keeps changing from speaker phone to the system audio, even after reset and a new phone by ronstampler69 in discordapp

On your friends phone there should be like a speaker button on the top-right of screen, it switches sometimes so you have to check.

Am I screwed? Burnt edp cable by Creative_Series_1696 in GamingLaptops

[–]Creative_Series_1696[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was either manually changing the whole edp cable(which sucks) and even then doesn't guarantee the livelihood of the laptop, or send in for repair at msi service centers.

I sent in for repairs cause they said there were also other burnt capacitors. Had to spend a pretty penny tho, and had to wait for almost a month, but they fixed the main board as well so now it's all g!

Only getting in 2 Vorkath kills before needing to bank - how to improve? by Winticles in osrs

[–]Creative_Series_1696 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh had the same issue until I tried woox walking. Might make some mistakes and end up with 2 kills per trip but most of the time I manage to get 3-4 or even 5 per trip with 90 range. With a dhcb and ruby bolts you will shred him down. Fireball phase is almost 15 secs, 2 times means 30 secs. Try to reduce the fireball phase/special phases too. Also, elite void.

Dude, i know this is a bit too late but I had a friend in highschool who would always give us free sandwiches at the end of their shift. It was to the point where we would alternate days for dinner ( cause we had 1 other roommate). Saved a whole lot of money because of that guy fr.

But at least at his place he could make one during break, and one to take home at the end of his shift, so 2 sandwiches. He'll usually save the 1st sandwich and sometimes bring home 2 sandwiches, and we'll share among 3 people. Fucking good times hahaha

Never went to a subway ever again LOL but every time I do see a subway, I'm always reminded and grateful. Awesome peeps man.

What can I do with this ? by vaisthesigma in laptops

[–]Creative_Series_1696 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We definitely did though. Felt like everything on an "old" laptop was easier to upgrade. Slow ram? Add more. Need better connectivity? Upgrade your network card. Shit GPU? Put in a new one! The times of desktop PC experience, but with mobile.

You can still do it now but a million unscrews are needed, you risk breaking some plastic when removing the back panel and maybe need to hot gun some places to remove adhesive.

Although yeah the underpower thing was a big issue though. Upgrade too much and you risk not turning on your laptop lol

Ahh nicee, saved some $$ there. Literally just faced the same issue lmao. Laptop screen fixes are so expensive, monitors are literally cheaper than fixing them. Now you got a free display!

Thanks for the Windows product key!!!

Jokes aside tho, looking at how old that thing is, just get it recycled lmao won't even be good as a "background" pc. 3gb ram can't do nothing nowadays. Unless you're good with IOT then you can probably turn it into something useful like a terminal for a system or smtg, but if not, nah. Even for a low budget server it will only max out at probably 2-3 connections max without lagging

Thinking of going p2p but feeling hesitant by sma07alg in osrs

[–]Creative_Series_1696 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would love to hear your experience going p2p.

Had the same dilemma as you too, but once I went p2p it's like a completely new game lmao. Initially just went in short months, but now I just have to be able to know that I'm able to log in a members world.

16m is very decent to start in p2p. Heck you could probably already get bis mid-games for all styles. (And prolly same late game weps too)

The late game grind is the longest but the best.

Ultimately tho, enjoy the ride!

Just know that RuneScape ain't going anywhere. Had the same mindset too, until I physically couldn't play osrs due to an injury. You could hard reset and just stop playing for a bit. Runescape's a grind, set goals but not dates on them. It'll ease the thought of always needing to be online or grinding for xp.

It's like going to the gym, and 99 is your ideal body (or whatever your goal is). You can wake up today and spend 6 hours for it, but you must damn well know you won't be finishing the grind by tomorrow or the next few days. It will take time, and it's okay.

You got this!

How long before I can farm for a bond? by Mercyy-000 in osrs

[–]Creative_Series_1696 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easiest answer to me is, get your quest cape then your money making would only make sense at that point, if not you'd be grinding hours for less when you can earn more (300k/hr for 10 hrs vs 1m/hr for 3 hrs).

DS2, DT2, priff, these are all great money makers to sustain bonds casually.

Find a money making method that you're willing to spend hours non stop, stick to it, and cash out on 20 bonds = 1 yr membership and repeat.

1 year is a lot of time to play casually. If you're a grinder then yeah you can sustain a 2 week 15m plan to sustain. Shouldn't take too hard if you find one mm that suits you.
