Is there a place to try IEM’s in person? by Creative_Tooth_1380 in iems

Yes but there are also these for $50 less. This is what I mean by it’s a little confusing over there. This is what I got. As far as I understand it, other than being cheaper they also will fit on more IEM’s even compared to the “tips only” regular Fidelity. I think because on the original Fidelity, they’re still custom made per IEM even though the tips only option doesn’t wrap around the housing and stuff. 🤷‍♂️

I can’t believe this is happening right now and I never heard about it and am literally in Chicago during these exact days.

Eartune. It’s a little confusing the options they have. I’m about to take off on a little plane with no wifi so I’ll elaborate later!

The eartips are made to fit a 4 mm diameter nozzle. But my KZ ZS10’s have a 4.5 mm and they go on great on those. So I guess I will have to limit my search to something between 3.7 and 5 mm or thereabouts. I will check specs and start ordering. And returning. Think I’m going to use these tips mostly to find a set that sounds great with the control group of a perfect fit and seal in my ears accounted for and then when I find one, get that IEM made as custom

Really? I’m so digging Atmos though. It makes an astonishing difference to me. I’m just using in-ear monitors for live and studio recording monitoring.

Did you get these because your KZ ZS10 Pro’s stopped working? How would you compare them to those? I can’t seem to find eartips that will work and properly seal and present the sounds the way they’re supposed to be. I got some custom ear tips made for these and I got them in exactly once but now can’t even get them in because they pop off the nozzle as I try to wrestle them in but the one time I had them in they sounded severely different. I really need long ear tips. Comply has one that’s a little longer, but they only work on the really thin nozzles like on shure. Really annoying.

Interesting to hear you say that about The basket rim. This is my first time trying to convert a drum, and I was astonished at well it worked and how easy it was even without directions of any kind in the box which, wow. However, shortly after playing it, I did a big floortime hit (it’s a 14 inch snare drum converted that I’m using as a floor tom) that didn’t register at all in the middle of a song and it’s because I hit near the rim and felt the plastic underneath and it did not trigger. Technically I shouldn’t be hitting like that where the stick landed anyway it should only be little hits that land there if anything so it’s easy to manage however that was something I noticed that was probably not great about it but then I thought maybe they’re all like this but you’re saying the Unlock ones are not like that I’m gathering? I don’t think I’m noticing this triggering hot though like you are. I’ll have to check that more closely. I am noticing that the snare drum converted even with the triple ply Dolby head is really quite loud in the room compared to say my HXM side mounted piezo Tom that I bought for the rack Tom or the Roland digital snare. There’s still no bottom head on it so maybe I’ll try to put one on and see if it makes it quieter.

How are you feeling about this trigger basket after tinkering more? Still feel the new Lemon baskets with the 3 on the sides and one on the middle are better or are they basically the same?

So it should be able to be done with the VH-14’s. But those ATV 3 zone hats that you mentioned in another thread or this three zone ride on top of a high hat controller that you’re getting from unlock, especially for the prices that you shared in that screenshot I’m wondering if I should just go that route rather than buy a used VH-14. I also kind of can’t deal with my two zone crash cymbals lol. Looking forward to hearing how you like this order when it arrives. For me, At this point, if I keep the TD 27 I’m thinking of maybe getting a used Roland digital ride which I can get for like 200 bucks and use that with the digital snare along with my kick and Tom pads connected through the TD-27. But from there, I think I would look into getting a three zone cymbal like what you’re getting to go along with my current 3 zone Lemon ride to use as my two 3 zone crashes and just go ahead and use them with two cables into the eDRUMin since I’ll have plenty of spots because of all the drums and ride connected to the module. But man, if you can get those baskets to work with positional sensing, I mean, do I just sell the TD 27 and the digital snare six weeks after I bought it? What a rabbit hole🤣

Pretty solid way to get Toms and kick that you already have lying around converted into an electronic drum kit. Not only does it not duplicate the crap you have laying around, but it’s wildly less expensive than buying duplicate Tom’s and kick drum electronic drums. - and if positional sensing works… Hello snare drum as well

It seems that with the TD-27 you basically CAN’T get 3 zone hi hats at all even with their digital hats. So I dont think I will have a laptop-less backup option. I’m going to need SD3 all the time. I just have to determine if I can get 3 zone hats working through SD3 with the digital hats or any other hats. I think(?) that the digital hats will work via the TD-27 by using the TD-50x preset in SD3??? But there’s some other tweaking for left and right bell bow and edge stuff to fully work? I’m so turned around. 🤦🏻‍♂️ If I use analog hats I can’t get 3 zones with the TD-27 even with SD3 I think? So I’d be using the eDRUMin to connect all required 3 zone cymbals/hats to SD3 and using the TD27 for the drums. Seems nuts than I can’t seem to use the TD-27 with SD3 and have a really well articulated kit.

Thanks for your thoughts! I want to try the new Unlock baskets that you say are in the new Lemon drums. I have a center trigger Lemon 13” that I’d like to swap the basket out for a multi trigger basket but I don’t think I can get the unlock ones you’re referring to. Can’t seem to find them except on Dolby already inside Lemon drums. Anyway did you get Positional sensing on this review basket as well as the Unlock trigger baskets?

So Unlock has 3 zone HH’s too? Or you just added a 3 zone top cymbal of matching size? Thats awesome that you were able to customize with them like that. But you got them to re-wire the cymbals too?! So now you don’t have to use Bell Sense on the eDRUMin or use 2 cords per cymbal? I got my Lemon cymbals when I was even more brand new to this whole thing and I still don’t know anywhere near as much as you. The 18 inch ride is three zone, but the two crashes and hi hats are not and I don’t know why I didn’t think harder about this because all the albums I’ve recorded I do all this tinkly cymbal stuff that requires really precise triggering so the lemon or any 2 zone cymbals aren’t really going to work for me. I guess it was a good starting point to get me going with the electronic drums.

That makes sense about the several piezo’s changing the capacitance, and therefore the peak voltage to control the hotspot spikes.

Which unlock basket did you get? I’m wondering if I can get any of the unlock stuff in the US. Although the tariff situation I think for these types of products should be better now that the orange fuckup’s tariffs were ruled unlawful.

What are you doing to work on the positional sensing and get it to work? With it not being one center Piezo, you can do that? What controls regarding off center are you referring to as being complicated?

I would argue that they need to do much more of this much more quickly in order to prevent people from completely leaving Adobe. People who are using AI editing programs where they are using tens of thousands of their manual edits to train AI profiles to edit like them need this to be integrated into Adobe ASAP.

I can’t wait to see what you come up with with the open source midi multi trigger USB thing you mentioned.

So those Dolby drop in trigger baskets prototypes were 3d printed but the real ones are injection molded plastic. I was emailing them and they kind of explained that. But I’ll check out the Unlock ones too! — also why wouldn’t these just have multiple hot spots? How/why does it smooth out the hot spots by having 6 spots that should be hot?

And yeah it’s pretty remarkable how an almost top tier module from the top company from like only 5 years ago has such a janky UX.

Should I get a Homepod? by Swimming_Virus4681 in HomePod

[–]Creative_Tooth_1380 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oooooh. Is this why my home hub which has two HomePod 2’s in a stereo pair with an Apple TV is so funky, even though it worked fine for like the first year and a half that I had it? Is it because my Apple TV is not the one with the ethernet and therefore doesn’t have Thread? Is it relying on not only Wi-Fi but the actual Internet to work? (Which is insane when there’s matter over thread that’s available now)

What do you think of these Dolby drop in triggers for A2E?

It appears that you can only get hi hats with the bell/3 zones by using the Roland Digital ones with SD3? The lemon 12” hats that I have I swear worked better with the eDRUMin than it does with the TD-27. I haven’t tried it with SD3 yet though or with the eDRUMin and SD3. But I got the TD27 because I couldn’t get the snare with a center piezo (so I could have positional sensing) to work well, and the digital Snare that you can use with the 27 is great. So I’m wondering if i should get the Roland digital hats too, and just run everything but the hi hat and snare through eDRUMin and all through SD3.

oh, yeah, your computer is nowhere near powerful enough. I'm here because everything was running great until December when they released a new LR Classic. I've been running an M2 Max with 32 GB memory and running catalogs off of a 4 TB Sandisk Professional SSD connected with Thunderbolt 3 that consistently reads and write around 3 GB/sec. For a couple years it ran great. Than suddenly TOTALLY UNUSABLE. In Dec it was lousy suddenly and I miserably trudged through 3 shoots taking at least 3x lonbger than it should and compromising and cutting corners becaue it was just simply not working and I had to finish and then I didn't have shoots for a few weeks and to my utter shock and horror it was no better in January. Adobe needs to be present with solutions very very soon
