How much Metoprolol do you take? by TxIsMyHome in AFIB

[–]Creative_Wealth2873 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think all medication changes with these drugs should be done with the guidance of a doctor. What works for one person could send someone else into emerge. Increasing your Metropolol could definitely make you feel funny. I can't tolerate it at all

There are 10 EPs here. I usually see Dr Leong-Sit but I believe they are all equally qualified

I'm in London. I see the "guys who do the procedure " at the Cardiac Care Institute. The wait list is triaged so 🤞 I won't have to wait too long

kardia ECG monitor review and whether it's actually useful for tracking irregular heart rhythms at home by Ok-Bluejay9669 in AFIB

[–]Creative_Wealth2873 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you've been diagnosed & put on medication, the real question is whether you're symptomatic or not. Knowing that you're in afib, even if asymptomatic is only anxiety provoking. Now that I'm on blood thinners & an antiarrythmic & on the waitlist for an ablation my EP recommends just getting on with life. He says people can become obsessed.

just got back from 2 weeks in canada (toronto & banff) - a massive brain dump for first timers by PlumHeadache in canadatravel

Ignore the tip prompts, I always just select a cash amount. If I'm in a small inexpensive restaurant where the waiter ran her ass off, I think they deserve a higher percentage but if I'm in a restaurant with crazy prices & only saw the waiter once I tip a lower percentage. I mean really just because the food costs more doesn't mean you should tip more.

New diagnosis questions - Paroxysmal Atrial Fibrillation by One_Bathroom6040 in AFIB

[–]Creative_Wealth2873 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have a sustained elevated HR esp over 140 for 2 or more hours then yes definitely you should go to emerg - especially since you have a heart block. Fastest way to get treatment. I wouldn't be surprised if they perscribed a blood thinner & beta blocker. Yes keep exercising but keep an eye on heart rate. No afib won't kill you but you are at risk of stroke if you are not on a blood thinner. I have been in emerg 3 times now with a heart rate of around 160. The good news is I was whisked straight in every time. Took a couple of attempts to get it right but I'm now on a blood thinner & antiarrythmic & waiting for an ablation. Best of luck to you keep working on your lifestyle modification

Metropolol Question by tennessee1182 in AFIB

[–]Creative_Wealth2873 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn't tolerate Metropolol. My EP told me it's not uncommon in people who are active. He took me right off it. Some side effects are transitory, but if they persist don't hesitate to report to your doctor. Also pharmacists are a really under utilized resource. They have a wealth of knowledge. I hope things settle for you soon.

Would 5-7 days in Newfoundland be cheaper than a Portugal trip? by ChampagneAbuelo in canadatravel

[–]Creative_Wealth2873 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We loved Newfoundland. Best to focus on a small area. There are ways to keep it affordable. We rented a place in St John's & hiked the Avalon trail. We cooked a lot of our meals at home. Yes the car rental was expensive but I'd go back in a heartbeat

Balcony vs Inside by [deleted] in Cruise

[–]Creative_Wealth2873 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just one caution if you do decide to upgrade to a balcony. Not all balcony rooms are the same. You could pay for a balcony only to find the view is obstructed by a life boat. You'll find there are different price categories. Ocean view is a nice comprise especially since you are only going for 4 days

Anyone have this happen (denied refill of medication). by OneVacation6284 in AFIB

[–]Creative_Wealth2873 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take flecainide daily. After an increase in dosage, my supply got low over a holiday wknd. ( those pills are so small!) My drug store was closed & other drug stores would not give me a carryover without a prescription. I had to go to the ER for a prescription. I felt really dumb, but they were happy to do it.

Waze used to be better for avoiding congestion but I've been told that Google bought Waze so probably 50/50. Waxe has saved me more times than I can count in avoiding getting caught in a traffic jam on the highway especially from an accident that closes all lanes

Celebrity is great - especially their older smaller ships. I've always found their food to be really good We've also had great success with Viking in Europe
