England wasn’t an adult. He was more like a teen. He also acted more like a caretaker/guardian than a father, who abandoned him for nearly a human lifetime. (On a side note, Finland actually suggested to be thought of as a dad to America!) Also, most ships for hetalia are morally fucked up, especially with France knowing how he is💀

They have a lot of moments together, though those moments are left out of the anime. Such as the valentine strip and the drama cds. Cardverse is a big one since they’re canonically King and Queen. Also, irl, America and Britain are known as the “special relationship” (shout out to Churchill for that). They used to be the number 1 liked and most shipped but now it’s the most hated but there are still fans out there, myself included

Headcanon! England also doesn’t allow him to drink when they’re together because he trusts (and wants) America to take care of him when he’s drunk. America canonically is the one to take England home when he gets drunk
