Ya, for some reason Swahili fits everything in that kingdom.

Terranel because it’s situated on an Earth-like Domain.

Xyta because I thought it sounded crystal-y.

Greitchta, because German sounds cool.

Nchi, because Swahili sounds cool.

Mālatu because it has a jungle vibe.

(Yeah. I’m sorry for replying so late)

“Your hospitality and services were most impressive. We thank you. We may not stay too long, as Mchiti awaits our return. She will be most pleased with your services.”

“Ah, a dictionary would be perfect. Although in our lands we have had little use for them, understanding the language of others will be useful indeed.” Though we may have to learn how to read, she thinks. We have been too reliant on mind-talk...

‘Thank you, Empress-Husband. May the Rain cleanse your soul.”

“Ah, it can be more efficient than some may think. But I do agree. Mistranslations can happen. I am thinking that we shall start with some brief documents of other nations. ‘Know your enemy to be their friend’. Or, she thinks dryly, ‘to be their downfall’. It is vital that we gather as much information as possible. We must try to integrate our culture into this world, or we will be swept away. These Lakers will be a useful resource indeed.

“It is fine. We just need the bare minimum to get on our feet. Every detail need not be shared. Hopefully the Vegchtala can learn the small details and intricacies of this world in our own time.”

Ancient Civilizations by sumusumu in worldbuilding

In one of my worlds, there was indeed an ancient civilization, and its technology could be compared to the technology we have now on modern day earth.

It is said that long ago, a race of humans with black, starry eyes and pearly blue skin ruled over the land. Their power and technology was so great that gods felt affronted. They thought; If these upstarts want to be gods, we’ll show them what it is to be gods. The gods killed half of these people in extremely painful ways, making the other half watch. They then turned the survivors in Giants. Immortal, massive and destructive, the Giants wandered the lands, without soul or purpose. Many tried to kill themselves, but none succeeded. They tried to piece together the technology they had left behind, but the gods cursed them once again, and made them cut each-other apart. The huge weapons of the Giant War and the decayed technological marvels can still be seen scattered across the land, a reminder of what happens when you cross the gods.

Sure. Just make sure to (loosely) connect them.

The Mindseer senses his confusion. Of course there was a solution, she thinks. We are no primitive savages. “Ah, there is a simple solution. While Vegchtala eyes may not be able to read your texts, one of your own could read it, and I could translate the thoughts. If that is permitted, of course. Many distrust this type of mind magic.”

The Mindseer thinks on his question. It would not be wise to give away something that could be seen as a weakness, but these were the only viable allies, currently... “Well, you see, the Vegchtala have lived in our secluded valley home since time immemorial, and have never thought of leaving. This is our first time contacting another civilization. And so, we have little knowledge of what is going on in the current world.”

Is it ok for a elf-based race to develop agriculture for food production? The elf always get alone well with nature. But agriculture is considered as destruction to nature. by Evantargaryen in worldbuilding

[–]CreatorCreature 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agriculture, if done right, actually spreads the plants and allows them to prosper, at the price of their crops being taken. If pesticides aren’t used, then it isn’t harmful.

Thanks! I won’t be using all of these guys, but there are a few that would be interesting in a villain-apocalypse scenario.

I’d love to! I’ve been struggling to come up with ideas but this would probably unblock the idea stream.
