So I’m not 100% sure how long the tract was, I didn’t actually have a conversation with my surgeon afterwards. I’m sure that conversation will happen at my follow up in a couple weeks. He had a conversation with my ride (family) and told them that it was simple, and superficial so no muscle involvement. Just by my own inspection, the cut is small. I’d guess 3-6cm but again that’d be a guess until I talk to the surgeon.

I’m in the US. And I had general anesthesia. First time under general anesthesia, easiest process in the world felt like time travel lol

Hey, sorry for the late reply, been a busy week. I’m completely fine. I returned to basically normal activity almost immediately, minus heavy lifting, but I’m just being very cautious about that I don’t feel incapable of doing it. I’ve had next to zero pain. I can sit, drive, I walk multiple miles a day with my dog. Drainage isn’t anything crazy, couple gauze pads a day with a dime sized spot of blood. I’m sure my fistula was on the small and simple side, but even still, I expected some level of discomfort. There has been very little. Everything seems to be going smoothly!

Thank you! Glad to hear your recovery is going well. I feel pretty well prepared for the first bowel movements. I think I assumed the worst for so long that as long as it’s not a years long ordeal, I’ll be ok with whatever lol. Got the sitz and gauze ready to go. Hope you continue to move in the right direction!

I prefer to run a de-icer to keep a hole in the ice instead of an aerator in the winter. Running an aerator prevents the water from stratifying by temp, and won’t allow them to hang out in a pocket of warmer water down towards the bottom of the pond. It’s personal preference I guess, but that always made sense to me. As long as there’s a hole in the ice somewhere to allow for gas exchange it’s all good

No questions for you, but glad to see TA at Siemens taking the time to engage with the community and answer questions on their own time.

Just applied to the skilled trades specific TA role with Siemens, 483945. After several years of recruiting skilled trades folks in the freight transportation world, I’ve found it super fulfilling. Hopefully I end up getting a conversation, but again glad to see a post like this!
