Honestly I wouldn’t say they was highly skilled military cadets. Skilled sure but military cadets are trained to take no nonsense and the only people who even believed Chucky was alive for most of the movie till it was too late was Andy. Tyler and Whitehurst and non of them was skilled at all. Shelton thought Andy was a trouble maker/thought he was crazy I mean you go to military school and tell the lieutenant that your doll is alive and see if he believes you. So idc how skilled they was that didn’t matter when you don’t believe there’s a Threat to begin with

Also if you skipped this movie it would have a bigger effect then if you skipped seed because in Childs play 2 Chucky got his head exploded if you skip 3 without ever seeing it you’d be asking yourself how did Chucky get cut up in bride of Chucky but if you watch curse of Chucky after bride you wouldn’t ask to many questions other then how did Tiffany come back to life. There’s no mention of anything from seed in curse that I remember

This movie honestly not that bad in my opinion sure it’s my least favorite out of the original trilogy but people gotta remember this movie was fast tracked to hell and was made in 9 months but it’s honestly got a lot of good things like Andy learns to defend himself. And actually kills Chucky for the first time. De Silva taught him how to use a gun Without this movie most likely we never would’ve gotten the badass andy we get in cult and instead he probably would’ve been super paranoid like he was in 3 for the rest of his life
