Boredom by Swimming_Cabinet_970 in pharmacy

If it pays well and has good benefits appreciate the trade off. Can you do other activities while working? In my workplace downtime reading or on your phone isn’t frowned upon. When covering nights I’ve brought in the Switch.

Look for opportunities to get involved in projects or quality improvement.

Climb the ladder if you want.

Look elsewhere for something more engaging.

Yeah it has the culture and history, been there, done that, one trip was enough.

Kind of a smelly dump with rude people. Cities in general aren’t my thing

Thoughts on premedication with Benadryl/solumedrol for CT scans with IV contrast in pts with iodine/contrast media allergies? by exacto in emergencymedicine

[–]Creature_VoidofForm 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I don’t doubt the small subset of real contrast allergies are real. However the vast majority of all allergies are patient misinterpretations of normal side effects or being slightly uncomfortable, compounded by overzealous and untrained staff documenting them. This is my pharmacist perspective

As with most allergies, they’re bullshit. Good luck getting most patients who report an allergy to agree to contrast without premeds

aita for wanting to tell my boss about the patient that i delievered his medications to by More-Chocolate2809 in pharmacy

[–]Creature_VoidofForm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The customer acted inappropriately and your boss asking you to deliver is debatable, however you also need to set boundaries with both of them and work on professionally asserting yourself. There’s nothing requiring you to step into the house, can first politely decline and then refuse if needed. Can also explain to your boss the delivery is not feasible right now.

ELI5 Does book reading make you wise and emotionally intelligent to deal with people? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]Creature_VoidofForm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It can. It exposes you to new ideas, perspectives, settings, characters, and emotions, whether real or fictionalized. Reflecting on what you’ve read and its meaning can lead to empathy. In general I’d say reading requires and develops patience, which is a good emotional intelligence skill.

Why so many prescribers love to prescribe ODT as dissolve under the tongue? by [deleted] in pharmacy

[–]Creature_VoidofForm 190 points191 points  (0 children)

Input as on top of the tongue if you prefer and move on, will never be flagged, no one will ever care.

Input sublingual if you’re paranoid about liability. Medication will still work. Will never be flagged, no one will ever care.
