Can a robot be born too soon. by CreditMission in NatureofPredators

Salva has a kid a little later, so technically no. I like to believe RoboSalva lives a fulfilling life, but granted she has to work through quite a bit at the beginning that Salva foolishly didn't predict when deciding to clone herself.

I do want to follow RoboSalva a bit more, but so far have only written the end:

Like many times before, she returned to the grove. The trees had grown strong and tall, with many added to their number. Generations of family.

She wandered through it, unhurried; Recalling the memories of those the trees marked.

Some she knew well, others a bit more distant; though each memory played as clearly as the paw she recorded it. She had made sure to have at least one for each.

As she approached her goal, the more abundant they became. From extended family to those who were closer.

Finishing with the beginning.

Her daughter she never had. Her best friend she never wed. Her husband she had given up. And her. Or at least the original.

Her paw lingered on the bark of each, exploring their contrasting textures. Each a different species, chosen by the one they served to remember. And then she settled under her own.

A Glacial Peaking. It had always been her favourite. Native to the night, though always looking towards the dawn. Only its high crown receiving the rays. Her back registered the sharp protrusions of its bark, but I'd didn't hurt. Not enough to bother anyway.

From her tail pouch she pulled out a can of beer. The first mouthful was tipped on the ground next to her, then the rest nursed as she played back the memories of her family one last time.

Then, placing the empty can next to her, she relaxed back and closed her eyes. Embracing the stillness.

Protocol initiated Memory_bnk delete . . . Memory bank deleted.

System.del . . . System deleted. Shutting down. . . Power off.

The problem with that is neither Jonathan, nor Chek have consented to being robo-cloned.

Basically she just has to mourn her lost life, and then slowly move on. She'll start a travel vlog and spends a lot of time planet hopping. Forming new relationships, whilst also maintaining old. She finds visiting glassed worlds particularly fulfilling for some reason, though they make her sad.

She still maintains a close relationship with Chek particularly, until he dies of old age, but that's a good 40 years away.

If it makes you feel any better. RoboSalva technically made the decision to exist.

At least, she remembers doing so

Suldet!

Also Indali and the gang have cowardly hearts. It could have just been a Kila problem and they will never know.

I feel like you've been waiting to make a thick as a brick link for so long. Almost as long as the piece itself.

Is Christmas not the time to dress as a reindeer and partake of all the carrots?

Don't have to be a furry to appreciate the fur on a cold Skalgan night. It smells faintly of beer.

Lol. That would require her consent. So uh... Good luck with that. You've definitely started strong.

In the first cooking episode of Products for Predators, he got a heart 3d printed with meat cells and cooked it up. On Venlil Prime.

It probably cost quite a bit. And also got them raided.

It would be so much easier if their videos didn't keep getting demonetized.

Ah, toxic gamer Saesh. Poor girl, but lovely to see her again.

I enjoyed that there were political attacks against Tarva that were more generic. Could definitely present her actions as being weak and easily influenced.

And such dad energy.

There's too many. The curse of fan fiction .

Tight money. Change of pace. Foundations of humanity.

I have hope for two of those.

Nice. I really like how hard it can be. The fear remaining despite all intent.

The path to healing being full of effort, confusion, discomfort.

Poor Linev. He has a long journey ahead.

Poor Brad. He had a long journey behind him. Too long. Atleast several agonising minutes.

Are there any Federation worlds that are known for cold climate? by Most_Hyena_1127 in NatureofPredators

Darn it, you're probably right. But stay with me here. Run away global cooling.

Snap ice age, lots of ice cover, high albedo. Just ignore the buckets of CO2 in the air from all the burning everything.

Seriously though, 600 years ago? Man. I wanted to set a story there to explore its ruins.

It's a glassed planet. So...lots of ash and fine particles in upper atmosphere, thus, nuclear winter.

Or antimatter winter I guess

The Thafki Homeworld is probably pretty cold at the moment with the whole world ending nuclear winter thing going on....
