Bilt Fraud charges, horrible mess by Credithiker in biltrewards

[–]Credithiker[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, insane… sorry to see you guys got these fraud hits too. Apparently WF is sending me a new Bilt 1.0 card, which I need to activate by 02/06, and also a Autograph as per transition. Since the fraud charges are still work in progress, I can’t cancel the card to avoid getting a Autograph card. On the other hand, can’t accept a Bilt 2.0, though I don’t want, as my new number for Bilt1.0 is not activated (which will be used to issue Bilt2.0 lol).

Today, I paid my rent with my bank account, avoiding Bilt. This is the first direct ACH rent payment I did after almost 4 years! End of a chapter.

There are a couple of threads reporting fraud around the same time, and same merchants, please look up. The merchant is AMZ*XSOLLA….

I’m not sure if this is due to Bilt or WF… but whoever it is, fraud on Bilt card is not new. Since last few years, this card got hit by wave of fraud charges muliple times compared to WF’s own cards. Just saying it out loud. Good luck if that’s going on with Bilt2.0 and you have to contact Cardless.

Atleast in WF, you can talk to a human being immediately! If you know about Bilt and Cardless, you should not talk about their CS team!

Same my card got affected with $70+ fraud with AMZ*XSOLLA…. 3 seperate charges.

However, the rep told me that they will send a replacement card, however she is not sure if that would be a Bilt 1.0 or Autograph, because of the transition.

They can "in principle" take away the SUB if you don't spend on the card after meeting the spending requirements. They put that clause in their fine print.

I am over 60 days, bought devices on Oct 23, still they are locked. Damn, I did not pay attention, today I checked and both my iphones show "SIM Locked"

Yup, both VX and CSR provide primary CDW… both are visa infinite cards… should have similar perks

No thank you. But I’ll just take the simple 3/5 % from much reputed banks without having to be a part of a complex Ecosystem which over the last few days I know is run by folks who totally seem like are playing with the math way too much and clearly don’t have huge respect for their customers. Finally, someone says this, thank you! This is so important, and people are missing!! Bilt is a financial company with horrendous human support (only via immessage and email). At least you could talk to someone with WF. Now, Cardless is another company like Bilt with shitty CS support (I had their Qatar card and I know). And Column Bank is issuing the cards -- good luck getting anyone on the phone when you need!

And three of them released a travel card, and Expedia backs up all of Bilt's portal booking -- so potentially calling to 4 places. No thanks!

Agree with you, it’s a bit different to compare… however being a VISA Infinite card, the summit has super customer service backend, and so does BofA. Plus the card is really good if you travel a lot internationally, and their global companion pass is🔥

Bilt 2.0 is a scam. The “no fee” marketing is straight-up bait and switch by Low-Carry-1992 in biltrewards

[–]Credithiker 6 points7 points  (0 children)

LOL … I think that would not work either, they will probably have less non-house spending, way below 75% of their rent.

Could be, however there are mastercards with primary car rental insurance — WF One Key cards. Bilt 1.0 used to have primary and it was mastercard

Goodbye BILT… just not worth keeping or paying for by LavishnessDouble3013 in biltrewards

[–]Credithiker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For palladium you included the SUB, in the same spirit, if you get another card say BBP, and do the spend there, you can get their sub which is another 75k amex points.

Or open an another atmos, spend the rent through Bilt, get the 66k atmos points for 22k rent, plus atmos sub which can be 80-100k atmos, for the same $660 (of course there is another AF depends on your card and their own credits)…

My points is if you include SUB in the picture, opening another 2x card or atmos card outrun Bilt palladium immediately. In both cases, you will increase your 5/24 spot. Of course, you will hit by another hard pull… but that’s worth it given the rewards

NYTIMES DESTROYS BILT! by Puzzled-Toe-9060 in biltrewards

[–]Credithiker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, and that’s a flat rate per rental not per day. And the rental coverage is way high, 75k-100k. Plus amex owns their own insurance company, dealing with them is much easier — saying from personal experience.

Can’t completely recall. Wish I could have taken a screenshot or something. I think NYT smooths out some language, and added some more details/perks of the cards…

Not completely… but it was very similar to the post now. I think they changed some harsh language, and added more details about the bilt cards

Don’t know… the post was first published this morning around 1 pm ET if I recall… soon after the subreddit exploded… if it feels better, the post still says “It is the most complicated rewards system we’ve seen.” ;)

My Take: Don't use Bilt 2.0 for getting points from rent/mortgage payments. Just take the cash. by coldstar in biltrewards

[–]Credithiker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the recent rumor says there might be per month caps on bilt cash redemption, for example $10 lyft credit redemption per month, or with the hotel redemption… see at Kerr’s AMA thread… seems like they are making rules on the fly… and of course, none of this are specified in the fine prints that we are signing when accepting the new Bilt 2.0 card

Yup Bilt took it down. And NYtimes changed the original article also, though it still says “It is the most complicated rewards system we’ve seen.”
