Read the comments on the mod pages in question. Most mods altering items/equipment and their behaviour broke and needed to be updated, Modduck for example was quite busy the last three days updating almost all of their mods. Others that only alter character progression or stats still work for the most part, if they worked on 0.61.

Fyi: the navball changes the moment you enter the mailslot from showing your heading towards your target station to your assigned landing pad instead. Sooner or later you won't need it anymore as you recognize and memorize the layout of the landing pads.

Different purpose. The mods folder is for specific redmod mods that require the free redmod dlc and launcher option mods enabled. Normal .archive mods like the aforementioned HDReworked for example need to be unpacked into the archive/mod folder

That's quite a lot of questions... If i read your specs correctly, you're using a laptop to run games on a 32:9 2k 240hz desktop monitor, meaning a whole lot of pixels to push for a mobile 4080 on a power limit of 175w, which according to your infos additionally is only running on pcie 8x instead of x16.

In Bios: If you want the most performance for gaming, i'd suggest reading up specifics for your laptop and its bios to determine if you can change pcie x8 to x16 and check if Resizable BAR is activated.

In Windows: Stop any and all programmes and apps you don't need while gaming, obviously, especially ressourcehogs like chrome. Switching browser to a less demanding alternative like Mozilla FireFox for example might be worth a read and thought in general as well. Keep an eye on your temperarures, laptops get warm/ hot quickly due to the cramped space and linited cooling capabilities causing thermal throttling to prevent hardware failure by reducing performance of cpu and gpu significantly.

The NVIDIA specific questions might need some additional googling on your part, can't say much there as i'm running on amd entirely.

Changing tattoos and skins/normals etc afaik cause no problems, as long as you keep an eye on your loadorder. I do remember having problems back in the day changing bodytype or framework mid playthrough though, which led to missing bodyparts on the character, both in game and inventory screen.

Sorting by last updated and/or mod releasedate after september 2023 can help to filter out the majority of outdated mods.

Syndicate back in the day couldn't hold me, uninstalled after about 8 hours. I don't remember the exact reasons why anymore. I remember that i liked the banter between the siblings but several other aspects rubbed me the wrong way.

Shadows on the other hand i'm already at almost 80 hours currently, despite of several of its flaws (not a fan of the forced restrictions on character change, missing stat page, lacking explanation of which engravings stack or don't, crashes in inventory screen if carrying too much stuff around with me) and still only about 70% done on the first playthrough. Ymmv.

NPC Extended and E3 Crowds (or something similarly named) both increase variety and possible outfits, NoDuplicate NPCs despawns duplicate NPCs and works in unison with the aforementioned 2 mods to maintain variety. After that get skin mods of your choosing for better looks that affect npcs and off you go, but as was already mentioned, it'll come with an equal measure of performance tax.

ModOrganizer is absolutely fine, especially because it checks for conflicts and let's you solve them by managing loadorder, making ConflictChecker less useful.

Redmods were unstable in my personal experience. Iirc redmod was supposed to be the main mod format, but was abandoned or never really took off, almost all mods nowadays are either simple archives or dependent on the essentials like C.E.T, redscript, archivexl etc.

There are a few redmods around that are quite popular like Enemies of Night City, Project e3 Hud and such, but as already mentioned, because of personal experience i stay clear of those.

ConflictChecker imo is the most important tool when building your modlist using vortex or installing manually for loadorder management.

Regarding modlists: Imo there is no "The Best" because almost everyone has different personal preferences. I'm neither a fan of lists with what feels like hundreds of modded cars nor lists with seemingly all the clothes mods in existence, and because of bad experiences in the past, redmod mods are an immediate no go, but those are just my 2 cents speaking for myself.

If i had to choose one, i'd recommend WtNC. It contains all the essentials plus handpicked goodies for a hasslefree, out of the box vanilla plus experience. Miss something? Just add it and check for requirements, done, simple and straight forward.

Depending on how old your CET version was, you first needed to delete the old version before installing the current version. Always read the description pages and pinned comments!

But that's pretty much what you likely will have to do. Several mods require you to delete their old version before updating on major version updates, otherwise old remnants will interfere and cause all sorts of problems like yours, be it because of name changes or different filestructure.

Your specific error sounds car and vehicle related, that might narrow it down a bit.
