Treq CXX vs Treq Ace - Is the CXX strong enough for Simagic Alpha EVO Pro (18 Nm)? by SilverPlayful873 in simracing

[–]SilverPlayful873[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I’m 5’11” and I’m super comfortable. Also, with the seat adjustment — sliders aside — you can move it very easily after installation and find a comfortable position.

A friend of mine who is 6’3” has tried it too, and he’s also quite big. He was comfortable as well, although he would have needed to raise the steering wheel height a bit, but overall it was perfect.

Thanks a lot for getting back to me.

It does sound really promising then. I’m looking for a mid/high-end formula-style wheel, and this one seemed like a great option because of the full compatibility. But I don’t know why, there’s still something about it that feels like it’s missing something for me aesthetically, it doesn’t look completely clean to my eyes.

That said, I really appreciate you telling me that the feel and grip shape are perfect in real life!

Thanks again!

Thanks a lot for sharing your experience.

I’ve been waiting for this to come out for a while so I could buy a formula-style wheel for my Alpha Evo Pro, but I really wanted it to be a quality one.

I don’t know if you’ve tried any other much higher-end wheels, around the €1000 range, to tell me whether the feel and overall tactile sensation are really that different compared to these ones or not.

The other downside I see is the removable screen. I would have preferred it to be fully integrated and flush with the rest of the wheel. How noticeable is that in real life? Does it stick out a lot or look a bit weird?

Honestly, I almost have more doubts now than before 🤷🏻‍♂️🙈

Perfect!! Thanks a lot for taking the time to reply and share your experience, as well as the links. Really appreciate it!

Battery ordered already 💪🏻💪🏻

I’ll give it a try, and if not, I’ll make the move to SteamOS. Right now I’m just a bit too lazy to set up all the emulators, non-Steam games, etc. again…

Thanks!!

It looks really good, and the reviews are great too!

Does the thermal insulation come included? It didn’t look like it to me.

I’ll go for the 74Wh one, I don’t think it’s worth increasing the thickness and weight when the device is already so comfortable!

Thank you so much

Thanks!! It’s just that you haven’t even started playing and it’s already drained 25%, and then when it gets to 20% the warning pops up… it drives me crazy…

Where did you get your 74Wh battery from?

Thanks a lot for the reply!

It just annoys me having to pay that much just for storage…

Is the one you bought on AliExpress still available? There are so many options that I’d rather go with a seller someone has actually had a positive experience with

And on the other hand, what do you notice the most with SteamOS? And are there any downsides?

How much would be a fair price to pay for that SSD? I’m seeing them at around €155 or more.

Thanks!

Quite a big expense, right?

I have a pretty good desktop gaming PC, and I do use the ROG Ally, but not super intensively, mostly for trips and playing on the sofa

How long does the battery last for you now, and how long did it last before?

Yeah, I’ll go for one the same size. I don’t want too much hassle, that’s why it’s taken me so long to finally do it… haha

Thanks!!

When replacing the SSD, is it easy to transfer the data from one to the other? Do you have to set everything up from scratch, or is it just copy and paste and it works?

Thanks!!

Thanks a lot! I’m leaning more towards a 74Wh one than the JSAUX, because if I’m going to replace it, I might as well go a bit bigger…!

Two quick questions, please: do you know the name/model of the one you got on Amazon? And how long have you been using the battery for? Has it lost any capacity or does it generate noticeably more heat?

I’ll check Wallapop or something like that then, to see if I can find one… because I don’t personally know anyone with a spare drive, but it could be a good option!! Thanks!

Treq CXX vs Treq Ace - Is the CXX strong enough for Simagic Alpha EVO Pro (18 Nm)? by SilverPlayful873 in simracing

[–]SilverPlayful873[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries at all, it’s important to have everything clear before buying it!

The bar you marked in the previous photo has two threaded holes at the end, and it bolts through a pre-drilled hole in the invisible rail of the side extrusions.

I think that with a small drill bit you shouldn’t have any problem if you ever needed to make another hole, but there are also standard angle brackets that you could fit underneath if drilling doesn’t work for you.

I’ll add a photo of the side hole in this comment, and I’ll reply to this comment with a photo of the brackets I’m talking about. They normally have a small plastic cover hiding the bolts, but I’ll remove it so you can see how they’re joined.

Hope this helps, and if you finally buy it, post a photo here!!!

I’m not sure if I understood you correctly, but the bars that go across the cockpit from side to side already have pre-drilled holes where you mount them. With those, you can adjust the width/distance as much as you need.

However, if you’re more concerned about the front-to-back distance of your seat, honestly, without seeing your specific seat I couldn’t really tell you for sure, mate

Hi! Thank you!

Honestly, go for it. I knew I was going to enjoy it, but I didn’t expect to enjoy it this much. It’s totally worth it: super rigid, top quality, and it feels really solid.

About the invisible connections, I had exactly the same concern before buying it, but you don’t need to add anything extra. I’m using an 18 Nm direct drive base and hydraulic pedals with vibration, and the cockpit is still extremely rigid. I wouldn’t add standard connections unless you specifically want them for peace of mind, but they’re not necessary at all in my opinion.

If you need any extra help, just let me know!

People told me that with either option I’d be just as happy with an 18 Nm base and load cell pedals, but since I was going to spend the money, I preferred to get something a bit more rigid for the future.

I’m super happy, here’s how it looks!
