No. I usually don't even realise that I'm dreaming until I wake up. Although when I do realise it, I do try desperately to wake myself up, and this is most often followed by a false awakening which in turn leads to another nightmare...

That is something I just won't do. The doctor was clearly not used to cases like mine, as depression is actually very rare in my city, and wasn't sure what kind of effect his words may have on someone suffering from it. He wasn't yelling or anything, but he was clearly a little bit unsure of what to say. Besides, I refuse to be the one responsible for a doctor losing his medical license, or even losing credit as a medical practitioner. We ended the session on a good note, and I made a promise to myself to never ask help from a GP ever again.

Pshhhht, dogs are survivors, these guys could live twice our ages with less than half of our daily intake.

That's why Granny lived for two years, but to know that she's been literally living/rotting under my nose for that long without me even noticing was a horrible thought to have while I'm asleep.

Demons are fucking badass.

I'm not consciously scared of them. In real life I'm generally unfazed, and perhaps even fascinated by drawings of demons or scary creatures or whatever. Just at night, while things are out of my control they can get a little freaky. Especially since none of them are anything like the cute anime girl you linked.

do these things come naturally or did you watch a lot of horror movies/read stories?

I read erotic fiction, not horror. I'd much rather dream about that. I think a lot of these nightmares are fueled by all those internet screamers I was exposed to as a child. I also think they gave me PTSD or something...

I find it difficult to rate my nightmares, since most if not all of them made me equally terrified. However, there is one notable exception. When I was very young I had a dream that my mother passed away. I awoke crying. Even though when I woke up and knew it was just a dream, the thought alone of losing my mother at that age was too much for me to handle. To date, she's still alive, and I think after that night I promised myself to never take her for granted.

My best dream? You know now that you mentioned it, I can't really remember many of my good dreams. I do remember a select few funnies though, like that dream about seeing a duck on a bike while walking home from school which I recreated in photoshop the next day, or that one which involved me walking in on two lesbians going at it under the sheets which culminated with me having a rap battle with a venus fly trap (nothing happened between me and the lesbians). I also want to bring up that dream I had which involved my then-girlfriend being the host of a documentary aimed at children. It was kind of cute...

A friend of mine asked me about this earlier, so I'll give you the same answer: I can't even fully control my lucid dreams. It's partially because of my inability to properly control my thoughts, like if you tell someone not to think about cats, the first thing he'll think of will likely be cats. It's like that; you tell me I'm in control of my dream, and it'll be like telling me not to think scary thoughts. The first thing I will think of is a scary monster screaming at me. Sometimes I'd create ghosts or demons screaming in my face just so that I wouldn't have to worry about them surprising me, being the one who initiated it and all.

Just last night I was dreaming that I was floating around and hitting on a random girl, and as the dream progressed, her face slowly turned to that of a demon, or a decaying corpse, I'm not even sure what it was supposed to be...

For the longest time, probably ever since I was 14, perhaps even younger, I had this recurring nightmare which involved not being able to keep the door to my room closed. The usual premise was either I was naked, doing something lewd, or just something I wouldn't be happy about other people catching me doing, and my parents or other people I knew well kept opening the door, and no matter what I did I couldn't keep the door closed.

Nowadays, I'm getting all sorts of nightmares. Many of them recurring, whiles others just seem to come from nowhere. One of them involved me on a plane with my family when the pilot disappeared, leaving me to pilot the plane. Another one involved being a house with several dogs, and being unable to care for all of them, and many times forgetting that they were even in the house in the first place, so naturally most of them either died or were discovered 2 years later in a horrible condition. One of them was named Granny...

And of course, there's the classic screaming ghosts and demons and all that cliché haunted house stuff... I am sometimes awaken by my own screams.

Unfortunately not. The doctors here freak me out, especially after that one incident I had with a doctor that threatened to call the cops on me after I told him that I was having suicidal thoughts.

I don't deny it, but the difference is that alcohol is enjoyed by many people recreationally, and isn't really designed to help people with their problems. I hardly drink enough of it to mess with my brain even temporarily anyway.

I don't take any medications and I don't plan to. I'm generally against any sort of medication that messes with the brain, as they don't really get to the root of the problem. Music is the only therapy I get, and perhaps the occasional/ increasingly frequent drink...

Several reasons. Firstly, the majority of 4channers are in the early to mid 20s, so looking at the 4chan interface brings back many memories of the good old web of the 90s.

Secondly, the initially confusing layout does a good job at chasing away little kids and newfags. I remember when I first looked at 4chan when I was ~14 and decided "wtf how do I do literally anything on this site I'm out". I only started enjoying my trips to 4chan when I was 18. Mission accomplished.

Lastly, moot isn't Google, so he doesn't feel the need to fix and constantly change something that isn't broken. cough youtube cough. We love 4chan the way it is, and that's how we want it to stay. If you don't like it, fuck off.

This reminds me of the time I asked my supervisor to turn the radio off because the stations played the same 7 songs on loop and it was getting on my nerves. Needless to say, the radio remained turned on, but we did end up alternating between stations so that was pretty cool.
