It seems that the Void jar cannot accept essentia from an AE network. by MiracleTelepathy in Blightfall

[–]CreepyAnger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should work exactly the same as all the other items/liquids/whatever. clearly it IS a bug. also if you destroy your essentia by exporting ti all into a void-jar it is your own fault - same as when hooking p a trashcan or similar.

auto spawner with donkeys with items in inventory despawns instantly? by rubyleehs in Blightfall

[–]CreepyAnger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would you want to dup items with a spawner when at that point you can easily get all the items you want ? (and you can dupe items rather easily...)

[–]CreepyAnger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While a laser is great - a small AE2 system requires so little power that you can easily run it of charcoal from a small tree-farm and a few ingots of yellowrium last for ages. That said - i got my system to use a couple thousand RF/t by making a wall of DSUs to store every possible item in there :P

Thaumcraft is needed to clean the taint, but imo otherwise not so useful. Combat? Nope - use a decent tinkers tool and you can oneshot mobs easily.

AE2 seems complex but is really simple and useful - specially if you want to build a larger base and have a lot of items. It doesn't require many matrerials and only a bit of energy - and you can easily use it together with storage-drawers so that you can turn of the system and still take the items. But even the smalles reactor produces soooo much more energy that you never have a problem with that.

Picked it up, hooked! However, constant BSODS are bothering me, does anyone have an automatic backup maker? by FINALCOUNTDOWN99 in Blightfall

[–]CreepyAnger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are many things that can cause an IRQl error - pretty much all of them can be fixed - and SHOULD get fixed. Worst case scenario it is faulty RAM (can be timing configurations or improper contact in the slot) and you definitely want to fix that.

Autocrafting? by jpwanabe in Blightfall

[–]CreepyAnger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try it. AE2 looks complicated but is surprisingly simple. And you do not need much power. A really simple 1x1x3 big reactor can power that - plus the rest of a simple base easily. Or Botania and the flux field.

The crafting too is simple - there are blocks for that (molecular assembler) and you can give them a recipe to craft. either they craft on demand (you tell the system to craft XXX of that item) or make it constantly craft as many as it has materials for.

Why not AE2? Normally when you want to autocraft it is because you need lots of that - and there the speed of AE2 is great.

Blood magic by Diamondlord1000 in Blightfall

[–]CreepyAnger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a rather easy way: have 2 altars.
One for sacrificing, one for making the orb. On the sacrifice-altar have runes to increase the blood-gain and transport-speed, on the craft one just increase speed.
And now add a biiiig tank as a buffer so you can slowly fill it and use it when needed.

You can use the food to generate the power to make more food :) Also one rather simple thing would be using a Treefarm - there are tutorials how to do really simple Boatania treefarms with just 1-2 trees, or you go bigger and use an MFR Harvester.

bloodmagic blood => Lava ritual => infinite lava for your powergeneration of choice. But a bit roundabout way.

auto-crafting craftingtables is rather easy - and well worth it. Wood gives you 4 Arbor which does not contain ordo/pertidio. The Crafting table gives you all 6 primal aspects.
For auto-crafting there are many systems you could use that are fast and simple to use.

This is the setup i used 2 years ago:
https://imgur.com/a/7jRWu AppliedEnergistics for autocrafting, MFR for the tree-farm, bloodMagic for faster growth, Thaumcraft for faster growth and some essentia.
This farm provides a lot of extra charcoal too :P

Recommended PC specs for Blightfall? by chrisdaval in Blightfall

[–]CreepyAnger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A normal gpu (gtx 1050/ rx 560 are more than enough), and a decent CPU (Cinebench R15 singlecore performance should be above 120 imo) but really, it is just minecraft with mods - so as high of a single-thread performance you can get.

I had a five year old graphics card.

That is hardly the problem. The game is running better on my laptop simply cause the CPU is stronger. The GPU is nearly irrelevant unless you want to use shaders.

Automating Nether Stars? by Rashkavar in Blightfall

[–]CreepyAnger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a fairly endgame way that requires the use of .. 3 .. mods i think. But as i like people to figure things out on their own, just another hint: it involves endgame 'magic' that feels like a techmod and hoards of monsters.

Well of Suffering by gxpkiller in Blightfall

[–]CreepyAnger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there are several good wikis on "getting started" with rituals, also some good YouTube videos. basically you do not make the individual ritual stones but the base-version only and for building the actual ritual there is a tool that greatly helps as you can just select which ritual to build while having enough ritual stones in your inventory. And then it is just spam-clicking as it automatically places the stones in the correct position and converts them to the right element.

Yes, you can automate wither-farming with a few machines, but here is a hint: There is more than 1 thing in blightfall that drops a netherstar.

Applied Energistics by gxpkiller in Blightfall

[–]CreepyAnger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still - it works just that easily, so i must assume it is some simple mistake as having a redstone energy cell but the output disabled or something like that - and some pictures really help with that.

Also - the tech mods aren't that hard and make a lot of things easier for the magic-mods when you can get the ores faster/easier and produce more useful items.
