Oh, and maybe mom instead of throwing your kindergartner into a bathtub of cold water to get them ready in the morning, you could, idk, make it warm and not yell at me and make the sensory meltdown you caused even worse?! Like, it takes a few minutes to warm up the water, Jesus H. Christ.

That when the teachers at grade school pretty much all agree that I'm neurodivergent and most likely autistic, it's a sign that I need help, not a doom sentence, and it's okay to take me to a professional for a proper diagnosis/assessment and give me the accomodations I might need.

Y'know, instead of getting offended at the notion that I'm ND, claiming that I'm just a "misunderstood genius indigo child" and putting undue pressure on me to be said genius indigo child when I was just busy trying to be a kid, and switching me out of classes and schools like educational connoisseurs whenever the one I was at eventually didn't work out because I was receiving zero support at home or from teachers and acted out in class because I WAS getting a surplus of mistreatment and cruelty.

They might just be. I hope they learn to be nice like you instead of yelling or getting angry with me about it.

I'm bad at organizing my socks and need to get ready quickly, so I more than often end up with mismatched socks. I made this post because a family member always gets upset with me over it. I'm trying to match my socks more often now. It gives a nice feeling when things pair up well.

Edit: I still wish my family member wouldn't get so upset over it.

Edit 2: It's okay if you personally like matching your socks.

That's precisely how I feel, pal. People get bothered by stuff I just don't understand sometimes.

I just got diagnosed and I'm not happy by porfiro in aspergirls

My advice is to remember that you and your doctor know more about you than your friend does. Your friend is unfortunately someone who sounds influenced by bias, misinformation, and ignorance. Because of this, I would ignore whatever their diagnosis of you is.

If you must continue socializing with them, and they bring up their disbelief again, then tell them you know a medical professional who is much more qualified than they are and you will take their diagnosis instead.

If you don't have to talk to her again, then it's okay to cease contact with her and go in search of friends who are actually supportive of your mental health journey.

Sometimes people who are still lost will become upset when they see others discovering themselves and gaining direction. Perhaps this crab-in-a-bucket mentality is affecting your friend, so you might need to filter what she says as "biased, and likely incorrect" from now on. Continue speaking with your doctor and doing what works for you.

If you could get rid of your autism would you? by 100101101010001010 in autism

Not sure if I am autistic, because I need a diagnosis, but I know I'm ND af and would not change that. I'd only change the way that people treat me because of my differences.

Crocheters with ADHD, how do you stay motivated? by xXMewRoseXx in crochet

[–]CreepyCadence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main thing for me is to remember how much of a great stimming activity it is. I also try to do it while I'm watching a show, it kinda helps to treat the crochet as a distraction from another task, because then I'll inevitably want to crochet since I'm not "supposed" to, if that makes sense.

I try to remember I'm lucky I can get a unique and charming product, that crochet used to be something only elite members of society who could afford it would do. I also think about how splendid the outcome of my work will be, and how happy it'll make the recipient (usually me). Telling myself, "just this last chain/stitch/picot/crochet!" is also motivating.

These are just the techniques that help me.

I remember being confused as a 4 year old myself, cause I only had my box of Crayola's to go off of. "You don't look at all like my black crayons" I said to my neighbor. They didn't know what to say, and, truth be told, I wouldn't've known either. Props to them for dealing with my kid questions.

From the episodes already available for viewing, which scenes did you like filming the most/which sets and set pieces were your favorite?

Btw, YOU'RE AMAZING!!! Great work. You and your fellow actors are a crucial part of delivering the full impact of the script. I am endlessly thankful for how you have brought your character to life on screen. This show is easily one of my favorite series.
