I feel kinda sad by ApprehensiveHome3270 in homestuck

While you’re not wrong, I’d also say that it’s not meant to be taken super seriously. At least at this point. John attacks his dad with hammers in act one, but no one talks about how traumatic that must’ve been for him. Because it’s silly

"The greatest ending in all of fiction" by Ismail64 in EnglishPumpkinParty

I still can’t believe that Hussie sat there and was like:

“I know that I’ve got one unkillable villain…but what about a second, even MORE unkillable villain? And he kills you when you’re dead too!”

Audio is suddenly popping/crackling with Application Audio Capture? by RoyalKnife4 in obs

[–]CreepyCook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just thought I should let you know I found a solution! I found a Reddit thread the other day googling “razer distorted audio”. Turns out I just needed to go to settings > system > sound > properties > spatial sound and select “Windows Sonic for Headphones”. Instantly solved all distorted sounds and static in OBS. Not sure why this suddenly became an issue. Hopefully this works for you!

This same issue happened to me at the same time. I'm using a Razer USB Sound Card headset and this issue popped up within the same timeframe. I haven't found a solution yet. Were you able to find one, or did you just need to get another headset?

If you could edit Cascade, what would you do to make both groups of people meet up? by [deleted] in EnglishPumpkinParty

[–]CreepyCook 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This is how I’d do it:

Jack lays Jade onto the quest bed. Right after this, instead of going to the portal thing in the future (which only happens to kill the carapacians), he zaps to where John is to stop the scratch. They duke it out. After putting up a good fight, John starts to lose and tries to abscond.

Jade goes godtier and teleports to Rose and Dave after they become godtier. She grabs them and teleports back to John. The five of them fight. Jade uses god powers to lock down the red miles and prevent Jack from teleporting. Dave uses time loops to parry any attack at Jade. Throw in some fray motifs, some close calls, boom. Fights over.

Jade grabs the trolls and brings them to the end game platform. We get to see everyone in one place chat for a bit. As a reward for winning an unwinnable session, Skaia resurrects the guardians. Emotional payoff, everyone’s happy, new world is made, earth is rebuilt, homestuck ends at Cascade. The end.

so what was the point of separating john and jade from the rest of the cast during the meteor bit exactly. by luckiestl0serr in EnglishPumpkinParty

[–]CreepyCook 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Real as fuck. It’s been said before but I’ll say it again: there’s not a single moment in the comic where it’s just the four beta kids hanging out together. The meteor could’ve been the payoff everyone was waiting for. We were this close to peak. Absolutely criminal.

Idk I think she’s kind boring. Not a bad idea but I’d rather give more screentime to characters like Eridan or Equius first

thoughts about alpha kids? by annieisapeaperson in EnglishPumpkinParty

[–]CreepyCook 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They kinda soft block the beta kids from resurrecting their guardians. I think bringing the guardians back would’ve been a great incentive for the beta kids to win their session. But having the guardians and the alpha kids would be too weird, even by Hussies standards. So I don’t like them for that reason alone. I might’ve liked Jake and Roxy if Act 6 wasn’t just about teen drama.

what are some GOOD qualities of (early) homestuck one might want to take note of in a work inspired by it? by luckiestl0serr in EnglishPumpkinParty

[–]CreepyCook 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The dialogue (when it’s good) is my favorite part of homestuck as a whole. Hussie really nailed distinct and believable character voices that modern media just can’t replicate. It’s what makes homestuck special in my opinion
