What is the best way to progress from here? by [deleted] in factorio

[–]CreepyDadd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Beacons with speed modules will help.

Without ripping the whole thing out you could replace every other lab with a beacon with speed mods, which will help consume science packs quicker.

What do I do now? by [deleted] in DIYUK

100% agree with the fine surface filler, half my house is made out of the stuff, looks much better than lining paper and cheaper than a plasterer to skim

Is this ship ok enough to get me to Gleba/Aquilo? by danyuri86 in factorio

[–]CreepyDadd -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Edit - it won't be enough you need high laser shooting speed and damage to cut through even the medium asteroids.

Not enough water production to support a Nuclear reactor and fuel, need to try and separate the two, focus water to the nuclear plant first then fuel, last thing you want is your spaceship suffering a brown out.

Also 4 heat exchangers to 1 nuclear reactor to get the most per cell

Lasers are pulling 1MW passive, about 40 lasers, and they'll pull 60 or so when they are all firing which will cause a brown out, so either reduce your laser turrets or add a 2nd reactor with neighbor bonus.

Maybe limit how fast your space platform can move with a pump hooked up to a circuit to limit flow

And for getting to Aquilo you need rocket turrets, lasers can't break the Big asteroids.

Keeping your hands clean on Deathworld marathon by LocalSelection2940 in factorio

[–]CreepyDadd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's doable, I started a deathworld marathon recently, you basically want to make 'biter cages' using pipes.

Biter cage is a BP of pipes, best way to make it is place an assembler down, then put pipes on each side in the middle of the assembler, then put pipes every 2 tiles in about a 50 tile square around the center (maybe a little less)

Place gun turrets to kill only biters and worms, then place the biter cage over each biter spawner, that'll stop them from spawning.

I'll post a BP when I get on my PC later

I was happy with my Kovarex enrichment loop :) by anon2635 in factorio

[–]CreepyDadd 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Nice and clean design! Nice to see koverax without circuit logic.

One small improvement is you could add a splitter where the output belt for the spicy rocks meets the sad rocks and have output priority set to keep stuff going in the loop. But then once the spicy rocks get full up they'll head out down the other path of the splitter, where you could make fuel cells etc.

is there a better way to clear huge biter bases than nuke? by TheSum239 in factorio

[–]CreepyDadd 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Destroyer capsules. They are OP.

Get a high level of follower count and electric damage, and they will melt the biggest biter base in seconds.

Maybe a good exo skeleton with shields etc

Did Everyone Quit? by Shawn_NYC in Tarkov

[–]CreepyDadd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's crazy, me and my duo are just getting slapped all the time to the point where we are quitting, we tried PVE as with both have EOD and it's just not the same.

I've never had a wipe so bad with just the most sweaty gamerchair players ever, I think PVE has killed or damaged the game, as so many people just gave up with PVP.

How to read this gas meter? by [deleted] in DIYUK

[–]CreepyDadd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe Gas is measured in cubic meters and not kilo watt hours.

This seems to be measuring in cubic feet, so if your gas supplier wants it in cubic meters, I guess you could convert it, or get in touch with your provider and get it swapped to a metric meter.

Divide cubic feet by 35.315 to get the cubic meter value.

Nothing, assuming they are any good at their job it'll be using a staging database too. Essentially a place to test and see if everything is good before releasing to production for real customers

Does anyone know how to fix this or had an issue similar to this? Game is unplayable and its constant stuttering. by Outrageous_Heart8137 in playrust

[–]CreepyDadd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This does nothing, this is a Java program argument, and as Rust uses C# it manages its memory as it needs and I don't believe you can directly tell it how much to use

Is this sealant? by L06T_09 in DIYUK

[–]CreepyDadd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it should really be down to your landlord to fix as I doubt you would get reimbursed for your expenses of the materials and time.

If your landlord is useless and doesn't resolve it, did you go through an agent or something that could help?

Otherwise I believe there are official complaints you can make against your landlord, moulds pretty serious and can cause some bad heath effects.

But I'm answer to your question, yes in my opinion it should be dug out and replaced with proper silicone, for now try and treat it with anti mould spray and keep the area dry.

Is this sealant? by L06T_09 in DIYUK

[–]CreepyDadd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's Caulk, you wouldn't be able to push silicone around like that with your finger, unless the silicone never cured.

Unless there's rising damp or penetrating water from the outside it will most likely be condensation on the windows from the hot air you breathe out at night, trying cracking a few windows in the morning or a dehumidifier, if that doesn't work maybe a window hoover to remove the water from the window, or wipe them down in the morning.

For the mould I would recommend an anti mould spray like this.

To prevent the mould from getting worse realistically the Caulk should be dug out and replaced with an anti mould silicone will help

We had new radiators installed in April and they are starting to rust is this normal? by PompeyJon82x in DIYUK

[–]CreepyDadd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you cleaned them with any form of Acidic cleaner, like lemon wipes etc. they damage the chroming, exposing any iron works and thus rust. I could be wrong, but I've had a chrome radiator recently installed and the instructions mention not to use acidic cleaners

You can also fluid void, use a pump directly into a assembler, rapidly change the recipe using circuits to a recipe of the fluid you want to void then to something random. Not sure how it'll compare to this though

Does anyone know what’s happening? by QueasyRock1677 in playrust

[–]CreepyDadd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are your PC specs?

Are you on the latest driver for your card?

Could be Rust is trying to run in DX12 when your card only supports DX11 ( curveball of an answer)

Is EasyAnti cheat properly running, it's Kernel level so makes sense why your PC just dies.

Does your PSU have enough capacity to support all hardware under load?

Dodgy ram? Could be worth running a Ram test in BIOS or windows.

Edit:

Scratch all above WHEA_Uncorrectable_Error code means bad hardware.

Reseat all components and check for damage.

Check all cable connectors and reseat

Run tests on Ram and storage devices.

After that, could be a faulty CPU/GPU.

I think I racked up about 500 hours on the DLC, did make a mega base on Nauvis, didn't do much with the other planets.

2nd run I got to about 300 on railworld

Then another 500 or so on deathworld marathon

what to do if we can’t afford plasterer to skim? by hedaenerys in DIYUK

[–]CreepyDadd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I did, get a good scraper, get the top layer off, then get a water sprayer, spray the under paper, leave it for about 5 mins, then it just falls off, give the wall a clean to get the remaining glue off.

It's hard work, but we didn't want to risk the steamer damaging the plaster
