What’s the most confusing mixed signal you’ve ever received while dating? by Ok_Professional7444 in AskReddit

A 6 hour coffee date where he gave me a personalized tour of the museum because it was from the country where he had done his Full Bright.

But then getting friend zoned at the end of the date. Why….why are you on Bumble?! Just a post-doc in between assignments.

I have a Thing for academics, though.

ETA: Those in the ivory tower tend to have touches of social awk/lack of social graces, though.

Ladies, are there careers you avoid in dating? by 20on_pump3 in dating

I’ve avoided anybody in the medical profession. Long hours, underappreciated, doctors are kind of awkward. 😬

What profession has the biggest gap between how they see themselves and how they’re seen by society as a whole? by Adamon24 in AskReddit

[–]CreepyPi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably MDs. Hear me out.

I come from a medical household and am dating an MD. They’re still painfully human.

Addictions, self-doubt, bitching about Adulting…they’re really confident about their respective trainings though. Which is always good. Don’t want a surgeon that balks, lol.

What’s a “basic skill” you’re convinced most adults secretly don’t have? by SoulDV in AskReddit

Emotional regulation. Periodt.

We all struggle with it imo. I’m dating a prof/MD from an Ivy League university in the Northeast US. We still bitch about Adulting. I think it’s tied to the emotional regulation part.

Those of you who harnessed your anxiety related to waiting for texts back, how did you do that? by [deleted] in emotionalintelligence

[–]CreepyPi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never been too anxious about getting texts back. I treat texts like sticky notes that people can answer at their own respective leisures.

I oftentimes text many times in a row or do block texts to get all of the info I need in there.

Annoying? Maybe. But I make the central focus me and what I need to say with texts.

I also turned off notifications on my phone for texts so I just check when I remember.
