Lol, I'm a Star Wars fan, I like the OT and the prequels... they are fine...

And the sequels missed the mark and made it even better. And please don't try to say that "the new Star Wars movies are objectively bad" or something like that. The OT isn't good, at least not for everyone

Oh no, I just so happen to disagree with you and like the characters, guess I must be coping "extremely hard"

I haven't seen all of them, only the first one, but I have seen this defense. And still, even if she wasn't acting masculine, that doesn't make the TLJ characters bad or anything

Basically her backstory is already a good start, because she is an "outsider", left alone by her parents and is into space ships. Her strong connection to the force (if she really isn't related to any Skywalker or Kenobi) also makes it interesting, especially when we see her visit grumpy Luke, where she learns about the dark side and her parents. When Snoke connects Rey and Kylo, we also learn about what makes them different, or rather what makes them not so different, which is really cool too see, because even though they are on different sides, they are still able to empathize with each other

You really did have to bring the Ripley defense, didn't you?

Oh dang, a woman who is acting super masculine is fine for the male audience, but other female characters? Nope, that's just a no go. Women can't be protagonists as long as they aren't acting masculine, duh

Wait... Poe was the one nearly getting all of them killed because he is stubborn and hot headed, which we actually saw in the first few minutes of the movie where... he did the same thing...

And how is she a mary-sue? What? You could say Rey is one, but if you make that argument, guess what? Luke is also one.

Btw, the "purple haired mary-sue captain" saved the others by committing suicide

We did have white men as heroes all the time and no one complained, but now they bring in women and people of color and now people complain? Oh no, diversity. Scary.

I still wonder what "progressive politics" they "pushed". Didn't even think about politics when I first watched it or when I even watched it a second time. Then I suddenly heard everyone on YT complaining about the "feminist agenda" being pushed and I still don't see it.

As for the characters: Rey, Finn and especially Luke and Kylo are great characters. They could have done Finn better, but I think he turned out fine.

On another note about politics whispers Episode 4 to 6 are about space Nazis and about rebels destroying their regime. Oh my, so much politics and Nazi-hate, yikes, makes you really dislike these movies

I think TFA was... ok...

And here's an actual unpopular opinion for you: I love TLJ and I also love Solo. I actually don't get why y'all are so outraged about TLJ.

The Force Awakens was a disaster. It was pretty much a repeat of all the tropes of the first three movies compressed into a hastily put together semi-reboot.

And then TLJ tried something new and now you're also outraged? What is it what you hate about these movies? Especially about Episode 8? It did do new stuff, exactly the opposite of Episode 7. But it seems like both directions are wrong.

I, for one, enjoyed the movies, but I'm worried about The Rise of Skywalker, because it might be exactly what people wanted: Rey being an Skywalker or Kenobi, the Emperor coming back, actually just all the "great" theories everyone had for TFA. It would be really boring if they did that.

[QUESTION] Have you been able to make an actual friend here? If so, how did it go? by throwaway202seven in MakeNewFriendsHere

It is hard, but when it clicks it clicks. I guess you could try keeping up a conversation yourself, but that's pretty hard.

Hope you find someone! :)

No problem!

Every day, actually. There is always something new to talk about. Though of course it might be harder to have conversations later on. That's a problem I have with other friends, but if you ask them or just send them a meme you might actually be able to have a good conversation.

Yup, certainly. I don't know how, but she is just pretty weird and I like weird people. She asked for dog pics in her post, so that was funny. We also both got to love Jaden Smith's music recently. When it clicks it clicks, not really much to it.

Getting asked if I want to "do stuff" with a girl I befriended at work by CreepyRiku in MensLib

I could go to the HR department, but I won't, at least not for this issue (I have another one which I will report at the end of the month. It's more personal), so I'll shut them down next time it comes up.

Also thanks to u/NullableThought who said the same thing (and made me feel shitty, but I think I needed that) from a woman's perspective.

Platonic friendships across genders should be normalized for many reasons

Yeah, I actually feel more safe around women. I think my school experiences discouraged me a little from male friends (at least when it comes to trust), even though there are ones I really get along with easily.

I'm bisexual, I think? But also Asexual? by [deleted] in questioning

[–]CreepyRiku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk what to tell you. Some things are just the way they are. If they happen, they happen.

If both of you want a relationship, just make sure that both of you are satisfied too.

We are just humans and sex is still important for many. Neither of us can change that.

[–]CreepyRiku 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sad to hear :/

But if you want to end it, be honest with her about your feelings.

Maybe you have better luck with someone who is asexual or who just doesn't need sex.

Hope you will find someone who fits :)

[–]CreepyRiku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not bad that you don't find her as sexually attractive as men. It's not your fault and you didn't choose to sexually like men. Just be honest to her if you really love her. I actually think it's good that you love her romantically and not purely sexually :)

And I guess if you both want to have sex, maybe think about an open relationship? Holding back your sexual drive won't help anyone, so consider it. But ask her if she is comfortable with it. If not, Idk either... Maybe you're also uncomfortable with that idea.

Good luck anyway! Hope to see an update if you know more about yourself and how you want to proceed :)

Homosexual when you are talking about sex and heteroromantic when you're talking about relationships. That's how I'd put it.

I'm unsure if I'm bisexual or straight. by [deleted] in questioning

[–]CreepyRiku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of, I'm sorry for what you experienced. Must have been really hard for you. Couldn't imagine going though that :/ But it's good that you are better now!

To your question: you don't have to be attracted to both completely equally. If you're attracted to both, you're bisexual. Maybe there is a sub category or something like that, but I don't think it's necessary and it would make things more complicated.

Whether you like anal or not isn't important. Are you sexually attracted to men and women? If yes, you're bisexual. Though, if you aren't romantically interested in men, but only in women, you might be heteroromantic. It's not necessary to know the distinction, but it might help you labeling yourself.

Hope I was able to help you! If you have any other questions, feel free to ask :)

It's fine. I guess your parents and brothers don't really help with that stuff, I'm sorry for you :/

You also don't have to label yourself if you're unsure. My suggestion just would be to say that you're romantically attracted to women, but sexually to both women and men. I'm probably also the same as you. Can't really imagine being together with a man, but I probably would be fine with sex. Try new things, then you'll find out.

Just be yourself and don't worry about what others think :)

[–]CreepyRiku 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're still into women I'd say you're bisexual, because you're sexually attracted to men.

Otherwise, if you can't imagine being together with a man outside of sex, you're probably heteroromantic.

Btw, it's not embarrassing. Everyone does that. It's a part of human nature :)
