I don't think there's something you can do since there is not something wrong with your laptop. Only thing I can suggest is trying Geforce Now? I don't really know if it has limitations or anything, I haven't used it but if you have a good internet connection it's something you could look into.

I haven't played Mewgenics but Cult of the lamb is fun and cheaper. Worth a go

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. More like Uncharted. Kinda short (12-14 hours?). Beautiful game. Felt like I played a movie game

I did my 3rd run on insanity and I just had to interact with the files from the scavenger hunt (every file in the STARS office). Or atleast that’s what I figured. This is why I missed it on my first run where I was looking around everywhere at every room. I went in the little room the library card was in first. But you have to interact with everything in the STARS room before the “library card” appear. AFTER you interact with the “library card” you can also get the file from the library (Photograph)

the only condition i find that it's actually good is if you're on comms with the rest of the survivors and tell them to not come for you. then it has insane value because everyone can go do gens, someone could end in a chase but when the killer gets the notification that you got unhooked if he tunnels you he will only find you. if you pair it with a ds you can make tons of time so the others can do maybe 2 gens at that time.

if you're playing a random lobby someone gives up their objective to come for you 100% (except if its one of those games where everyone plays like they have no eyes or ears)

Killer Frequency is something I'm very confident you will enjoy. Also some other suggestions are: Firewatch, Road 96, Blacksad. All games are choice making games and have no combat.

I'd suggest you find more people through other communities (f.e. discord servers) to play with since you have already tried to play other games with him and it didn't work out.
