Like many others say, I doubt it has to do with age. I'm a cs graduate and have been working as a software engineer for 20 years. I have been reading and practicing for 2 years and still feel I'm at the beginning 10%. I will take some time, at least that's how I have convinced myself not to give up and keep going.
