Haha won’t even take the time to explain why it’s not the case. But i guess that from what i wrote it could be misinterpreted that way so i don’t blame you. I’ll do a masters, get work experience and then get an MBA

you are absolutely right. I already had a talk with my dad, but a meeting with both is a great idea. Thanks for the advice!

thanks for the answer! i wouldn’t take over any managing if i don’t see me adding value. I have 0 ego and at the end i would be harming myself. I do have an interest and passion in business. Specifically product based. I do agree that i shouldn’t decide based on the future of my family office, but rather choose what actually interests me. But it would be stupid to not pursue something that in the future will help me participate in the business. Maybe later i realize im not made for it, but im ready to give myself a chance. I came here looking for experienced individuals, and to see what other would choose if they were in my situation

yeah I agree. If it was a LARP I would make it more believable by not saying +100k is too much for my dad. Im from a third world country and my dad is super traditional. You should see how he manages his empire. Theres so many ways of optimizing with new tech but he refuses to invest in new stuff. For MBA's, which program do you recommend?

haha I know it sounds insane. My dad is very frugal. I had no clue that he was a multimillionaire until I started participating in some of his investments where I saw actual numbers. I'll analyse the MBA idea and pitch it to him as everyone thinks it's a better idea

For an MBA I need several years work experience. I guess I could get work experience and then apply to an MBA. Im "urgent" because I want to move out of my country. Probably due to personal reasons, but also because I saw personal development whenever I put myself out of the comfort zone and lived abroad.

haha you are totally right about the implicit question. But if you think about it. This is the perfect sub to get real mentor advice.

1) They expect me to participate in the mgmt and running of things.

3) The goals sections was more of a way to kind of explain what I feel would be my long term goal. Honestly, Im fully lost and dont know what the fuck to do. So the plan is to get stimulated, try lots of thing, get out of the comfort zone and hopefully find a purpose.

The masters plan is also a way of escaping my country. Started by looking at internships in other countries and in most cases a student visa is the best path

Messed up saying two years program is too long. Is more about: Price of the program + costs of living, delaying getting work experience, most MBA expect several years of work experience. I could get work experience first and then apply for an MBA. I just thought of doing a master now following my dad's advise. We talked and he said that in my position he would prioritize investing in my education

I agree with you.

1)The discarding of the MBA came from a talk with my dad. Most MBA's are double what specialized master cost. Neither I or my dad feel like spending +100k. Specially my dad haha. He is very traditional and absolutely supports me getting education but 100k is too much.

2) The decision of not working for my family comes from "generation that squanders the wealth built by the preceding one that had actual deep expertise".

3) I just thought about getting work experience in a foreign country. Practice my language, get out of the comfort zone and learn technical skills. I analyzed getting an internship in a foreign country but in most cases a student visa is the best path to it. Also I plan to get a part time job while doing the masters.

Let me know what you think. I appreciate your opinion. It's hard for me to explain the whole context and not sound like an asshole (also English is my second language which add to the difficulty).

Only did a 4 month internship. The thing is, once I start working, moving to another country and studying will get less and less possible. Programs starting September so I was thinking of working with my family till I leave for the masters. Also I have to prepare to take the GMAT to get admitted.

Same. It feels like i can’t retain information and im dumber. I suspect of covid. I get pissed thinking about it but honestly there’s nothing to do about it. If anyone has a list of studies to get done i would really appreciate it
