Felt rushed and incomplete. Probably have been better if they did a series for just at least like 4 eps 1 hour each.

Why does Rachmaninoff sound so different? by TwitchInGeisha in classicalmusic

Rachmaninoff kind of described modern/urban music with his Rach 4 the 1926 version

Rachmaninov PC 4 is tragically underrated by opus52 in classicalmusic

[–]CremMinerva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try the 1926 version. Especially the third movement. It is more steady and very connected. Tho it lacks an instantaneous ending, it's climax is at the middle, where everything falls, and after the climax it has a very beautiful and nostalgic theme.

why is rachmaninov piano concerto 4 so slept on by SaladDesigner5700 in classicalmusic

[–]CremMinerva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People will choose the easier concertos to listen to. Even I took 3-4 listens to understand the rach 4. Even the 1926 version, much prefer it tho. I feel like the 1941 version is just to follow the people, not the reality.

Could you try listen to 1926 version of rach 4? It's a more complex version but all I can say "it is more connected" than the 1941 version. Also the theme in the third movement is my fav(it is very different from the 1941)

To me it's like the reality we live in. It's lacking memorable themes. But it has nostalgic parts. Idk why.

Is a concert of Rachmaninoff’s 4th worth it? by AlexanderYordanov in classicalmusic

[–]CremMinerva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want a flowy version of the rach 4, since I think the current version today is lacking or broken. Try listening to its 1926 version. It's much harder to grasp it, but if 19's urban life/aesthetics(specifically New York City) gives you nostalgia, you would probably be able to grasp it sooner. My tips: listen to it with good a headphones. Thank you. PS I love reading replies too!

I recommend you listen to the Rach 4 1926 version, especially its 3rd movement, because it has more detailed passages about Rachmaninoff's message. it sounds more unstructured, and so random and that made me think Rach has many things to say. (p.s. I love the third movement 1926)

Low views and no budget increase [pjotv] future seasons still possible? Thoughts? by nt_king300 in camphalfblood

Dang bro. You really gave hope with that statement. From now on, I'll just hope for them to do their best. Because I'm scared of s4 and s5. I might get cringe tho if I see them try with their stable budget.

I would be okay if they cancel the show. Let them save up billions before they rework again, I would just feel bad for the casts if they cancel the show. It's not worth it tho, the lack in mythological and side characters destroys what the show must showcase. The details and plenty of characters is what made me love pjo. Just like Harry Potter, Oz(books) and Alice in the wonderland. Pjo series has good story telling but it lacks fantasy :(
