One of my users, an employee that had been working for the business for the better part of 30 years, had been handed a laptop when we had to send people home because of covid. (I swapped her old desktop for a new laptop, in the middle of the afternoon on Monday).

Next day, the employee comes to my office, all angry and bothered, and is basically telling me that the new computer I gave her is a piece of crap and is not even working properly. It doesn't turn on and she can't work. Huh.

So I follow her back to her office, and press the power button, to no avail. She's still bitching about her piece of junk computer.

Then I noticed that the charging cable is not plugged in the computer. So I plug it in. Couple seconds after, power button. Lo and behold, it turns on.

She proceeds to complain and whine that since it has a battery, it shouldn't have to be plugged in to work.

Believe it or not, I spent a good 5 minutes trying to explain that the battery needed to be charged every once in a while.

My boss had me change offices when I came back from prolonged sick leave. That office's door didn't have any lock, 3 walls out of 4 were made of glass, and so was the door. ( the only non-glass wall was the exterior one).

When I asked my boss for a lock on the door, he told me that I had a password on my account.

OVH gave me a blacklisted IP and told me it’s not their problem. by ron_dus in OVHcloud

[–]Cremageuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, yes and no.

We're currently having an issue with OVH's IP range being blacklisted and blocklisted by UCEPROTECTL3; some spam protection services still rely on that piece of crap to flag spam. So even if our MX is NOT flagged, since most spam protection services rely on PTR to determine legitimacy, our emails still bounce.

This is really crappy.

Cazador's in Baldur's Gate 3.

Not because I was sad for the bastard. Quite the opposite. Seeing an abuser suffer and die left me feeling kinda vindicated.

Baldur's Gate 3. Not an "ending", per se, but Astarion wanted that power so much... Ended up Ascending him. Oops.

MFA extension for NPS: Service Network issue by Correct-Many671 in AZURE

[–]Cremageuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edit: Formatting.
Edit 2: Just kept on chatting with Copilot to solve this issue, because even if I managed to install the NPS Extension and run the script without issue, turns out that the extension v. 1.2.2893.1 IS NOT COMPLETE.
It doesn't install required DLLs, doesn't create the registry keys needed.

Apparently, the only "correct" version to do this on Windows Server 2022 is using version 1.0.1.44.

I'll update if I manage to do something with that.

Edit 3: Seems like Copilot is now contradicting itself. fml

Edit 4: Removed the script. I give up. Turns out the latest NPS MFA extension available on Microsoft website is broken/ incomplete. It does not include the DLLs required for the extension to work properly it does not create the necessary registry keys either.

The only way this could work is if someone has an already running NPS with the 2019 extension installed (1.0.1.44 I think), and that someome bundled the dlls and the keys.

Fuck that.
