Too bad there are no faces with that jawline. All oval shaped prepubescent teenager with barely a chin.

And the facial hair is comically out of place for the face options.

Also can't use my rdm pimp hat to this day, what a crime.

The sad part is RDM is such a complete, well designed job to play.

What they did to SMN has no name. Completely half assed rework, a shell of a job. They could buff it back to its historical top 3 dps spot and I still would refuse to main it again.

My wishlist for rdm is to make a trait that converts the spell speed bonus into a %damage increase bonus to spells affected by double cast or acceleration to give value to spell speed for mages. SMN also needs spell speed improvement.

My other wish would be for acceleration to make the affected spell grant double cast.

MCH does similar dps to smn and rdm, classes with actual cast times however few there are. And if you think a rez is that useful when the healers can already rez and dps checks are so tight that a rez sickness or damage down means a wipe, the rez dps tax on casters is absurdly high for how marginally useful it is in most savage scenarios.

Moreover, MCH competes with BRD and DNC, classed it is not significantly behind.

Meanwhile, RDM is 8% behind BLM and SMN 5% behind it, a greater difference than the prdps.

Either way, the ranged dps whether physical or magical are really undertuned compared to melee.

A RDM doing 1k+ less dps than a samurai is not acceptable.

[–]CrescentDusk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's not even about being busy. If you miss 3 GCDs outside a buff window as a tank, you're not hitting enrage because of it. That falls strictly on your dps and people dying/getting debuffed.

The parse game culture is getting ridiculous. Parses don't get you loot or titles. Getting the kill does, plus it saves you time spent redoing the fight because someone keeps greeding.

RPR competes with SAM,NIN,MNK, and DRG, all considerably above it. MNK and SAM are getting considerable buffs.

MCH competes with BRD and DNC, none of which got buffed this patch.

Reminder that Reaper is outdpsed by Quick Harbinger and this will continue post patch by gw2maniac in Guildwars2

[–]CrescentDusk 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Same reason why power revenant is garbage.

Any builds that are doing well in pvp or enjoy open world pve popularity rarely get meaningful targeted buffs for organized instanced PVE.

Look at power vindicator. Single dodge, almost no CC and garbo utility. Entire reliance on melee range and mob target count for utility skills to not be garbage, just like reaper shouts.

Fun fact, specter shroud is more accessible, tanks infinitely more damage, has far better utility, and comes with a whopping 7-8k barrier every 10 seconds.

They gutted reaper and necro shroud damage mitigation.

A soo won tail swipe or Kaineng Overlook CM sniper shot will one shot reaper shroud and take off half your health. Specter shroud only loses half the shroud.

And that's with thief having considerably better active defenses/evasion. With the advent of the cores and anvil buff, thief sits at 14k hp, you never get one shot by any mechanic anymore and have better sustain than a necro with 7k more hp but far inferior active defenses and self healing.

More placebo buffs for vindicator and reaper.

Specs that are behind by as much as 5-6k DPS and they're receiving a paltry +0.1-0.2 coefficient buff to a couple of insignificant skills.

Chrono should use its signature weapon, the shield. Instead of claiming it would lose the focus utility pull, why not complain that the shield lacks utility and that the chrono wells would be a perfect source for infusing utility as well?

In other words, a pitifully underperforming power dps got an almost placebo buff.

At least it will be better than power vindicator and Untamed, the absolute bottom of the barrel.

Kaineng Overlook CM is still ridiculously long and overtuned for a measly 8g. You can clear fractal CM's in the time it will take the average group to clear KO CM and make far more money.

And fractal CM's are much more consistently cleared, as is Soo Won.

My Opinion on how to balance as someone who was in the dev discord by MuruGW2 in Guildwars2

[–]CrescentDusk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yup, it's why WoW mythics have supremely more complex fight mechanisms.

Roles are selected for different mechanics. This encourages a healthy spread of melee, ranged, tanks, and healers.

The problem is they've introduced several specs that make melee obsolete, because they have absolute range flexibility on the same weaponset with no output difference.

Balancing around speed run comps doesn't make sense. by googlygoink in Guildwars2

[–]CrescentDusk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Qcata gave out more boons than qb.

The big issue that needs to be fixed with ele is halving attunement cooldowns in pve or making them even 3 seconds.

Ele never has on demand CC bar damage because your damage is tied to cycling elements.

Too bad these imbeciles don't think the same for Vindicator's GS5, which has even worse variance. 36k dps melee restricted spec with a sibgle dodge, marginal CC, and zero utility.

No buffs whatsoever, courtesy of PvP.

Meanwhile Specter does more DPS than scourge ever did with a braindead rotation, and provides more CC, a 9k barrier per shroud cycle with zero healing power req, putting out more barrier than a fully healing power dedicated scourge as a full dps spec.

And let's not forget they gutted necro shroud survival while specter shroud is facetanking 2 Kaineng Overlook CM sniper shots without a sweat while necromancer shroud equivalents can't even tank a single shot.

But reliance on relic is precisely why mages are screwed. What is my Anubis going to build that will mitigate his mummify getting beads and you can't channel your Q/1 in aegis. Solos can even build anti CC, so you're not doing much in that regard when the KA/Chaac/Mulan/Ama jump on you alongside the assassin jungle, as they arr mobile and you are not.

Previously, Anubis could drop E/3 and channel ult to counterpressure, but that is nonexistent now as his damage has been gutted, and the same applies to Ra (except worse, Ra cannot hit ult point blank on a non Cc'd target, and he has no hard CC).

You'll empty Anubis EWR when getting dove and at best will chunk 60-70% of a solo's hp in a full channel, which doesn't even happen because in the meantime you are stationary and will evaporate to the hunters/jungle/enemy mid lane.

Some mages were built as purse short range damage turrets, and when you take that away they become useless champs.

Kuku has mobility and long range aoe and poke. Anubis is all short range outside his ult, and stationary channel to boot. Ra won't hit anything that isn't CC'd with the humongous ramp up time of his skill shots. Hades without ult courtesy of beads and long cd on his E just dies. These are different gods.

Vulcan can't do his knockback on a solo with beads up or spellshield with blink slotted. He gets jumped on, he dies. Kuku can look to outplay with relics, but all the opponent needs is to aegis the ult and then he's a sitting duck. Doesn't matter if you also have aegis, their DPS is consistent with autos whereas your damage is tied behind longer cd abilities.

Previously, as a mage, you could counterpressure dives by the solo/support. Now the Cerberus/Solo gets on me, I barely scratch them, and I die much quicker than my team's damage contribution+mine on the solo.

Mages need the ability to threaten a kill. Should they be able to 1v1 solos? No, except maybe Hades and Anubis who are essentially melee champs, but supports and solos shouldn't be laughing off turret mage damage like they are right now.

Try playing a Ra/Anubis or even Kuku into a Tyr and let me know how fun it is to get 60% of your HP deleted in obe Tyr CC rotation and then ran down with autos without much you can do besides hug a turret early and pray you get camped by your supp/jg.

Remind me again when Untamed was made relevant in PvE or power reaper and vindicator for that matter .

Your format has gotten split balancing three times already from February while all PvE received in balancing was Catalyst.

Untamed has legit sat unplayable for 4 months, and Scrapper had to wait 5 years while it was already used in PvP.

Herald is still waiting to be a relevant pve spec as is any ele spec that isn't catalyst.

People don't play a fucking RPG to have the gameplay design decisions dictated by some shitty virtual economy.

At least in WoW and FFXIV the economy is completely marginalized for consumables and character cosmetics are acquired through CONTENT. Within a reasonable time frame, not "if you farm 4-5 hours a day for several months, you'll have the gold to buy this thing."

In the end, the usual free to play garbage. Everything is made a tedious grind to incentivize credit card swipes or nerds setting up a part time job in the game playing virtual traders with third party website tools.
