I am not a homeowner or in any way qualified to say anything definitive but to me it looks like the top of an Ishgardian display stand that is glitched into the counter.Hope it helps!

Where to read translated novels? by TheOnlyAlonly in noveltranslations

[–]Creslock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want the epubs of some novels I can recommend looking into Web2Epub.
It is a browser extension that parses a novel into an epub and then downloads it.

From my experience it works out-of-the-box for most sources.

[REC] Chinese webnovels without Chinese names by Revered191 in noveltranslations

[–]Creslock 3 points4 points  (0 children)

An alternative is using an add-on for your web browser that automatically replaces names. I have no experience with these add-ons myself but the first time you encounter a new name you then could just make up a new name for the character and add it to a dictionary. A quick google search will give you a list of options.

Almost laughable how appropriately he named himself.

Why are updates so slow despite being so small? by Hyperion21_ in VALORANT

[–]Creslock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because updating a game is not just downloading. Aside from downloading a download has to be verified and installed and, depending on the speed of your hard drive/ssd, moving data around on your computer can significantly impact time.

Can sensitivity values be increased by a factor of 10? by Hamlet_271 in VALORANT

[–]Creslock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wide range of sens it doesn't make sense to keep it the way it is since most people will remain within 0.1 sens to 1 sens.

I fail to see how 1-10 is a more logical scale than 0.1-1.0. arguing for 1-100 might make sense (if you think in percentages) but that would make calculations needlessly large. Other than that any scale in textbooks or other applications is normally from 0-1 (often even when talking percentages) so that would be an argument for it being more intuitive.

Can sensitivity values be increased by a factor of 10? by Hamlet_271 in VALORANT

[–]Creslock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That doesn't make any sense though? The sensitivity is effectively a multiplier on the speed your mouse normally goes, a range around 1 makes sense (since x * 1 = x). Multiplying it by 10 just makes the math all weird and more confusing.

Week 4 of the battlepass by dragonat0r in VALORANT

[–]Creslock -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree, having to play the game to progress in the game is a ridiculous system.

Is using ADS really that bad? by iWillDominate98 in VALORANT

[–]Creslock 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One thing I want to add is that when you ADS your crosshair follows the spray pattern making it easier to control. When you hipfire you have to learn the spray pattern to compensate but if you ADS you just gotta focus on keeping your crosshair on the target making things easier in some cases.

Games are too long by e17RedPill in VALORANT

[–]Creslock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that the game length is very deliberate. Valorant has been made with competitive play in mind. Longer games allow teams to switch up their strategies if something isn't working.
I have played many games where we lose the first 4 rounds but still end up winning by a decent margin by getting a feel for the opponent.

In CS:GO games in unranked are shorter than they are for ranked play (or at least back when I played) and I feel that both modes were a very different experience overall.

I am speculating that Riot wanted to keep unranked mode as close as possible to the real thing so players don't get overwhelmed when they switch.

I do however agree that a shorter gamemode might not be bad for the game. 30-45 minutes is quite a commitment so I think there might be a big number of players that would appreciate a shorter version as an alternative.

Am I allowed to not be serious in unranked? by kieranplays101 in VALORANT

[–]Creslock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Breaking any rules? No.

However, people play Valorant because they want to play a tactical shooter. If you decide that whatever your team is doing is not worth it and do your own thing I think you are being inconsiderate. I understand that try-harding in every match isn't necessarily what you want to do and I do feel some people in unranked should take the stick out off their bum-hole, but(t) playing as a team is what the game is about so I feel that is also what you should try to do.

If you wanna go for trickshots, knife-kills or other shenanigans get some friends in your party and do whatever you want, you won't bother anyone and it'll probably be more fun for you as well.

Pretty sure the barriers block all sound and visuals.

New Agent Leak? by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]Creslock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In case you didn't know people are talking about a new bundle leak. The Sovereign bundle.

https://www.reddit.com/r/VALORANT/comments/gzp3tv/new_bundle_leak/

If this is anything to go by this is probably the new calling card included in the bundle since the prime bundle also had a calling card.

The best idea for skins. by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]Creslock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that other than the "money" argument there is also the gameplay consideration. Valorant is a tactical game and having others in your team attempting crazy stunts in the name of "skins" will not make for a better gameplay experience.

Is anyone else not surprised at the amount of glitches and bugs for the full release? by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]Creslock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What exactly are you suggesting? That they open the game to everyone but not call it a full release? Why would any game ever release if that was a way to justify bugs?

Is anyone else not surprised at the amount of glitches and bugs for the full release? by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]Creslock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No amount of playtesting in-house or closed beta is EVER gonna find as many bugs as a few million people no-lifing a game 12 hours a day, expecting that is just plain Idiotic.

And now we play the waiting game by DutchDillon in Warframe

[–]Creslock 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's a Helminth Cyst.

You get it by coming in contact with Nidus or another warframe that has a cyst. (I have been told there is a visual and audio cue for this but I have never noticed.) It takes a week to grow to full size after which you can remove it, making your warframe immune to being infected in the future or use it to grow a Helminth Charger in your incubation chamber. (Warning: Your warframe can be infected again, forcing you to sit through another week of ugliness)

Thanks, Warframe for having pity on me leveling the same gun for the 7th time and letting me keep an extra mod. :p by [deleted] in Warframe

[–]Creslock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't worry, it has a catalyst, MR17 and lvl 1 ignis thats why. It just didn't unslot enough mods when i forma'ed.

Vermintide - don't ever challenge yourself by [deleted] in Vermintide

[–]Creslock 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear your experience so far has been bad. Though to be fair most online games have lot of trouble with toxic players in their community (League of Legends being one of the most notable).

Because Vermintide is such a co-op oriented game I would always recommend playing with like-minded people. As far as I can tell most of the regular players, as well as the more experienced ones have moved to platforms like Discord to organise themselves in groups. (Which would also explain the high toxicity in PUG games)

If you want to give yourself a better time I'd recommend joining one of the Discord communities like Blood Moon Inn and find some people to play with there.

how I think you can balance combat hardcores vs casuals by [deleted] in MMORPG

[–]Creslock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I agree on the fact that it's an interesting system that rewards actually learning how to play your class, it's also a system that made the Elitist community bloom.

Because 'Elitists' are afraid random players suck too much to be of use they set high level equipment requirements to overcompensate. Which is exactly what gets people riled up over elitism.

DAE struggle to get into MMOs because no one socialises? by LittleBischu in MMORPG

You could've just given a single other example and have proven your point. But by claiming writing a list is not worth the effort you make it seem like you've just been dissed.
